“At this junction, I want us to dance πŸ•Ί πŸ•Ί πŸ•ΊπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ. As we are dropping our offering, I want us to dance. Anyone that fails to dance, don’t collect their offering”, the pastor announced to the congregation.

Fee weeks ago, the video of a lady in the church went viral on the internet. The lady, who filmed herself, was seen in the video twerking to the song sang by the choir accompanied with beats. Many Christians have condemned this action to my surprise. Has she done anything wrong in light of the present-day Christianity?

From the video, it is obvious that the lady was a good Christian who did nothing but followed the instructions of the Pastor. It was a tithe-payment session, the drummers and choir were set and the members ready to dance. The Pastor’s instruction that anyone who fails to dance “to the Lord” would have his/her tithe rejected had motivated the young lady to dance and flaunt her assets “to the Lord”.

One thing to note is that Christians have derailed from the original teachings of the Bible. They have invited for themselves, a new and different religion that contrasts what Jesus Christ taught or preached.

The contemporary mode of praise and worship in Christianity today is not biblical, same as the way they pray. In Matthew 26:39, we have read that Jesus fell on his face to the ground and prayed. In fact, Jesus had instructed his followers not to pray like the pagans, Pharisees and hypocrites by blabbing, yelling etc.Β  in Matthew 6:5-15 but the reverse is the case today, Churches disturb their neighborhood with intolerable noises.

In Mathew Chapter 4:9-10, it was said that the Devil had tempted Jesus. He, the devil showed Jesus Christ the whole Kingdoms of the World and asked Jesus Christ to bow down and worship him. Jesus Christ had disagreed and quoted even Moses, that, “It is only the Lord your God you must worship”. Why would the devil ask Jesus to bow and worship him and not to sing a song slowly when he, the devil accompanies it with drumming at the same pace?

The Christians’ way of praise and worship cannot be traced to the Bible. As for praise and dances that accompany it, they quote the Psalms and tell us how they follow David but we need to remind them that they are Christians not Davidians! Why did Jesus not follow the way of David and perform such act of praise? Can any Christian tell us how Jesus taught them to praise God?

Using the Biblical David’s songs and dances as an excuse, the Church today is in no way different from a club house. Indecent dressings, free-mixing and all types of dances.

So, if Christians say the twerking lady was wrong, then, we can conclude that the whole of Christianity is wrong. People dance more than this on a normal Sunday serve. The chairs get scattered, they roll on the floor, jump in the air, jerk, whine, twist and all sort. Twerking is not ‘the worst thing’ that happens in the Church.

Perhaps, her crime would be filming herself. As for the twerking, she is just a perfecting representation of the Church and its unseriousness. At least, if God had wanted you to praise Him with songs and dances, he must have revealed spiritual dance steps that so befits “His Temple”

Lastly, I am encouraging Seekers of the Truth to study Islam and find peace in bowing to God in worship as did Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Jesus and other Prophets of God.
