A PREACHER OR A SPITTER???

0

This piece may be a bit late. But corrections to blunders are better late than not.

When a couple of months ago Alhaji Buhari omo Musa extended his talk-exploits to the church, instant criticisms trailed the action from different muslim clerics. Alhaji Buhari’s fanatical fans raised the dust in defence of their beloved celebrity. They loosely lampooned those who deemed the unprecedented action of their man criticizable. They never bothered giving listening ears to the angle from which the clerics viewed the issue.

Alhaji Buhari entered the church. Soooo! What’s the big deal? No scholarly cleric will hit any muslim preacher for entering the church, provided that what he goes in for is still within the ambit of the Islamic laws.

A muslim can consider appearing in church to preach the gospel of Islam. Alhaji Buhari claimed to have done that exploit to call the christians therein to Islam. But was his message really soul-winning? Was it conviction-driven? Whoever watched the video or listened to the audio would see crystally that the man only succeeded in ridiculing the religion he was invited to representatively preach its gospel. He jestingly talked of the muslims as against what he was supposed to do. He portrayed muslims as unorganised, unrespectful of God etc.

The church would never have invited a serious muslim preacher to stand on the pulpit for a soul-winning lecture. That would be suicidal. They knew Alhaji Buhari was nowhere near the standard of a serious muslim that would render their action a suicide. They knew he would only make them laugh and giggle out their jaws, which he did as though he was Ali Baba. Mission accomplished.

Entering the church is no big deal, of course. The church should have rather called on a soul inspirer and winner, such as Mallam Yusuf Adepoju of the Academy of Islamic Propagation (ACADIP). This is a muslim scholar of the christian Bible. He understands it inside-out, and incalculably, many christians have found Islam worthy of being practised through his intellectual dialogues with them. A few years ago, ACADIP showcased and celebrated hundreds of christians who had embraced Islam. If that church had considered the aforementioned Bible guru for an invite rather than the entertainer-spitter, muslims all over would have applauded the courage by the church and possibly accompanied him down to the venue, for it is certain that there would be innumerable reverts at the end of the preaching.

Alhaji Buhari apparently fell for the euphoria of the unprecedented invite. He satisfied his audience at the expense of Islam. “In the name of Jesus you will be blessed…” “Jesu a se iyanu ninu aye yin…” (Jesus will perform wonders in your lives). He blabbered. This is nothing but shirk – ascribing Allah’s attribute to a human being, even though he was a miraculously born prophet and messenger like Adam was wondrously created from clay. Any muslim who fathoms the tenets of Islam would never attribute Allah’s unequalled quality(ies) to a human, in fact, not even Prophet Muhammad (صلي الله عليه وسلم), our model.

Alhaji Buhari loquaciously uttered too many trash that are enough to make a treatise. This piece, however, is just to give a synoptic account of the exploit and educate muslims and non-muslims alike.

According to Hasting’s Dictionary of the Bible, “There does not seem to have been any
inferiority in the position of the concubine as compared with that of the wife, nor was any
idea of illegitimacy, in our sense of the word, connected with her children.”

Jacob M.  Myers, professor at Lutheran Theological Seminary and acknowledged Old Testament scholar, comments in his Invitation to the Old Testament:

Archaeological discoveries help us to fill in the details of the biblical narrative and to explain many of the otherwise obscure references and strange customs that were commonplace in Abraham’s world and time. For instance, the whole series of practices relating to the birth of Ishmael and the subsequent treatment of Hagar, his mother … all are now known to have been normal everyday occurrences regulated by law.

A Nuzi marriage contract provides that a childless wife may take a woman of the country and marry her to her husband to obtain progeny. But she may not drive out the offspring even if she later has children of her own. The child born of the handmaid has the same status as the one born to the wife.

Returning to the Alice in Wonderland perspective for a moment, what makes
more sense, anyway? Would God design a prophet to violate the same commandments he
bears from the Creator? Would God send a prophet with a “do as I say, not as I do” message? Doesn’t it make more sense for Abraham to have acted within the laws of his time by engaging Hagar in a lawful relationship?

Given the above evidence, the union between Ishmael’s parents was legal, God
endorsed Ishmael as Abraham’s son, and Ishmael was the first begotten. Look up Ismael
in the New Catholic Encyclopedia (the reference of those who would be most likely to
oppose, on ideological grounds, the piecing together of this puzzle), and there one finds
the following agreement: “Ismael (Ishmael), son of Abraham, Abraham’s firstborn …

Exaggeration in the Graves of the Righteous Persons
tends them to become Idols worshipped besides Allah

Imam Malik (May Allah be pleased with him) recorded in his book Muwatt ‘ that the Prophet
(May the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) said:

“O Allah! Never turn my grave into an idol to be worshipped. Allah’s, wrath intensified on a
people who turn their Prophet’s graves into Masjid.”

Concerning the verse:
“Have you then considered Al-Lat and Al-Uzza.” (53:19)

Ibn Jarir (At-Tabari) reported from Sufyan, from Mansur, from Mujahid:
“He (Lat) used to serve the pilgrims by preparing Saweeq (fine flour of barley or wheat mixed with water and ghee) for them. After his death, the people began to stay and confine at his grave for the purpose of reward.”

The same was reported by Abul-Jawza (May Allah be pleased with him) from Ibn Abbas
(May Allah be pleased with him). Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

“Allah’s Messenger (May the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) cursed the women
who visit the graves. He (May the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) also cursed those who set up mosques and lights over graves”. [This Hadith has been confirmed by Abu Dawud,
At- Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah and An-Nasa’i].

Important issues of the Chapter

1) Explanation of idols.

2) Explanation of worship.

3) The Prophet (May the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) did not seek refuge in Allah except from that which he feared would occur.

4) The Prophet’s joining this supplication i.e., “O Allah! Never turn my grave…” with taking the
graves of Prophets as Masjid.

5) Mention of the intense wrath of Allah (on those who indulge in such activities).

6) Of most importance is the description as to how the worship of Lat, one of the major (pre-Islamic) idols, was started. Xx

7) The knowledge that Lat was the grave of a righteous man.

8) Lat was the name of a person buried in that grave and the mention of the meaning behind (the idol) being named such.

9) Curse (of the Prophet (May the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) ) on the women who visit the graves.

10) The Prophet’s curse upon those who put up lights on the graves.

SHIRK IN SAJDAH DURING SOLAAH

0

Imagine: you hear the adhaan for dhuhr, you get up, make wudu, lay down your prayer mat and begin. “Allahu Akbar.” You have begun a conversation with your Lord, your Creator. You recite Fatihah asking for guidance. You go down in ruku and glorify your Lord, the Mighty and Powerful. You proceed to the ground to make sajdah. With your head on the ground, glorifying your Master, you are in the closest position to Him.

The prophet (saw) said,
أَقْرَبُ مَا يَكُونُ الْعَبْدُ مِنْ رَبِّهِ وَهُوَ سَاجِدٌ

“The closest that a servant is to his Lord is when he is in prostration.” (Muslim)

In that moment, you are fully immmersed in your conversation with Allah. You glorify Him and praise Him and seek His forgiveness and seek refuge in Him…

But.. while you are in this state, someone walks in. Your spouse or your mother, a sibling or a friend, perhaps a colleague or even just a stranger. Someone walks in and sees you in this state. Your attention is immediately diverted: you start to think, “Is my back straight and my posture correct? Let me fix my posture so this person doesn’t think I’m making sajdah all wrong.”,  “If I get up now this person will think my sajdah was so short, I should prolong it.”

Right then, in that moment, you’ve committed shirk (minor shirk: riyaa). You’ve committed shirk while being the closest you could possibly be to Your Lord.

What a sad situation that is. You put so much effort in to this act of worship, and in a split second and tweek of intention, you ruined it.

This is something that has happened to a lot of us – or at least the thought has crossed our mind even if we didn’t act upon it.  This is a trap which shaytaan sets for us and he is quite skilled at it. But, don’t worry, all hope is not lost. You can still redeem yourself. If this happens to you.

1. Rectify your intention: adjust your intention and purify it for the sake of Allah.

قُلْ إِنَّ صَلَاتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحْيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
“Say, Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds.” [6:162]

2. Still prolong your sajdah and correct your posture, but with the intention of doing so for the sake of Allah. This way you destroy shaytaan’s plot in two ways: you have already saved yourself from minor shirk by rectifying your intention, but now you prolong and perfect your sincere worship and he is unhappy with this as well.

إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ فَاتَّخِذُوهُ عَدُوًّا
“Indeed, Saytan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy.” [35:6]

3. Seek forgiveness from Allah: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أُشْرِكَ بِكَ وَأَنَا أَعْلَمُ ، وَأَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا لَا أَعْلَمُ
“O Allah, I seek refuge with You lest I should commit shirk with You knowingly and I seek Your forgiveness for what I do unknowingly.”

“Say, “O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah . Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” [39:53]

How to stay happy always

# Don’t Expect From Others:

Another factor that hurts the most, brings stress into life and breaks the relations that bring happiness is the expecting from others. We as humans tend to expect from other people and when we set high expectations from them, and when those are not fulfilled we feel depressed and dishearten. As humans we ought to depend on each other, however, the best one are those who set their expectations with Allah who would compared the means for those expectations to be fulfilled. Prophet (PBUH) said in a hadith:

“O Allah, give me enough of what You have made lawful to suffice me from what You have made unlawful, and enrich me by Your bounty giving me independence from all other than You.” (Tirmidhi

Thus, when a Muslim sets expectations with Allah, then He surely does fulfill those expectations. Therefore, instead of setting expectations with people, a Muslim must turn towards Allah, ask for every thing from Him, and depend on Him only. This way expectations will be fulfilled and stress will remain at bay.

# Work On Physical Fitness:

There is no denying the fact that methods like Quran recitation can bring peace and solace to a person, however, the peace of soul and heart needs to be complemented with a peaceful body as well. If the body is not healthy then it will fall prey to all sorts of illnesses and health issues, which boost the stress and keep a person from enjoying happiness. Therefore, a Muslim must try to work on physical fitness and keep the body healthy so that it resists stress better and is able to enjoy happiness in general and occasions of happiness in particular. As Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said in one of His hadiths:
“The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, while there is good in both.” (Muslim)

# Listen & Recite Quran

Without any doubt, listening to Quran in heart touching recitation brings happiness and peace to both mind and soul. Also, reading the words of Allah reveals many secrets upon the recite. Therefore, if you are in quest for happiness, start listening and reading the Holy Quran. This will surely help you attain a level of satisfaction and happiness you desire.

# Remember Allah always:

Allah says in the holy Quran chapter 3 verses 191 and 195

191
Those who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], “Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; then protect us from the punishment of the Fire
195
And their Lord responded to them, “Never will I allow to be lost the work of [any] worker among you, whether male or female; you are of one another. So those who emigrated or were evicted from their homes or were harmed in My cause or fought or were killed – I will surely remove from them their misdeeds, and I will surely admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow as reward from Allah, and Allah has with Him the best reward.”

“Remember your Lord morning and evening, deep in your heart with humility and with fear; and also in a low voice; do not be of those who are heedless.” –Holy Quran 7:205

Conclusion:

In short, a Muslim can easily fight and resist stress while at the same time be happy, if he or she starts acting upon the instructions of Quran and try making Islam a part of their daily lives. If this habit is developed then a Muslim will be more content and remain happy for whatever Allah has given him or her and this gratitude will lay the foundation for further happiness and joy.

May Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala grant us goodness and happiness both in this world and the here after, Take our souls only when he’s pleased with us, and cause us to die as Muslims. Aamin. Rabanna aatina fid dunniya hasanata wa fil akhiratihi hasanat. Aamin.

How to stay happy always

0

Happiness is a fuzzy concept, i.e. its is relative and has different definitions depending on the are of application.

In philosophy and (western) religion, happiness may be defined in terms of living a good life, or flourishing, rather than simply as an emotion. Happiness in this sense was used to translate the Greek eudaimonia , and is still used in virtue ethics .

In psychology, happiness is a mental or emotional state of well-being which can be defined by, among others, positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy.
No matter how relative the definition of happiness and its pursuit may be, the general agreement is on the fact that if one is able to reduce stress and the factors that cause it, then one can actually have a shot at achieving happiness. Therefore, the pursuit of happiness and the refraining from stress go hand in hand.

People employ different methods, including reading helpful books to deal and cope with stress, however, for muslim, the simple and easiest way of combating this instrument of depression is by following the sunnah and the Qur’an. Listed below are ways and acts that reliefs stress and give hapinness.

#Seeking the pleasure Of Allah:

One of the major reason behind stress is that humans do thing for pleasing others. All we ever want to do is to go for things that we think could please others and when they aren’t pleased as we expect them to be, it brings disappointment which then leads to stress and keeps the happiness. The approach of a Muslim should be that of pleasing Allah Almighty. The reason why one should strive to seek the pleasure of Allah is the fact that only He is the One who returns exponentially and any effort done in His way does not go unrewarded. In Quran, Allah Almighty says:

“The believers, men and women, are Auliya of one another; they enjoin Al-Maruf, and forbid from Al-Munkar; they perform As-Salat, and give the Zakat, and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah will have His Mercy on them. Surely Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. Allah has promised the believers – men and women, – Gardens under which rivers flow to dwell therein forever, and beautiful mansions in Gardens of Adn. But the greatest bliss is the Good Pleasure of Allah. That is the supreme success.” (9:71-72)

In these ayah, Allah Almighty calls His pleasure as the supreme success. Therefore, if a Muslim strives on the way of Allah, lives Islamic way of life, then the supreme success or the true happiness will befall upon Him and all the worries will definitely keep away. Hence, striving for the pleasure of Allah is far better than striving for worldly pleasures that bring stress and depression.

#Show Gratitude and stop looking for faults

The other and perhaps the most subtle element that keeps happiness away is being ungrateful for what we have and prying on other people and always being contemptuous and jealous of what they have. When we are not grateful for what we have then actually we are not appreciating what we have and if one cannot appreciate what he or she has then how possibly can they think of having more. Regarding being grateful, Allah Almighty says in Quran:

“And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: “If you give thanks, I will give you more (of My Blessings), but if you are thankless, verily! My punishment is indeed severe.” (14:7)

From this ayah of Quran it is clear that those who are grateful for what they have are the ones who get more from Allah Almighty. Moreover, being grateful shows contentment in a person, which is the greatest ally one can have in achieving happiness and defeating stress. Therefore, being grateful is what can make a person happy in both present and future. As Muslims we should also strive to conceal the faults of our brothers, so Allah can cover ours, thereby keeping the mind at peace.

“O You who have accepted Islam with your tongues, but in whose heart faith has not yet entered! Do not annoy the Muslims nor revile them, nor seek out their faults. For whosoever seeks out the fault of his brother Muslim, Allah will seek out his faults. He whose faults are sought out by Allah, then Allah will expose him, even if he is inside his house” (Muslim)

“No man blames another for wickedness and unbelief, but it will return upon him” (Bukhari).

“…And whoever hides the faults of a Muslim, Allah will hide his faults on the Day of Resurrection” (Bukhari).

Think Of Your Soul As Well And Desire the Next World’s rewards more:

The problem with the ideals of happiness that we have at present are primarily based upon material things. We presume that money could bring us happiness, or if we were rich we would have less stress. Similarly, the progression in career, better social standing and so on are some factors which we consider as factors that could bring us happiness. The real happiness comes from the soul, if you are satisfied within then you will be happy with the outside world as well. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said in one of His hadiths:
“True enrichment does not come through possessing a lot of wealth, but true enrichment is the enrichment of the soul.”
(Bukhari)

Therefore, in addition to living the life of this world, a Muslim must also work upon enriching his or her soul so that the achievement of happiness could become easy and the worldly pursuits that cause stress should be avoided.
“Anyone who desires the reward in this world shall be given it here, and anyone who desires the reward in the hereafter shall be given it there. Soon We will reward the thankful.” (Holy Quran 3:145)

“So as for he who transgressed, and preferred the life of this world, then indeed hellfire will be his refuge.” (Holy Quran 79: 37-39)

# Don’t Compare:

One of the major stress inducing factors at present is comparing one’s self with others, especially with the ones who are above us. When we compare ourselves with others who are better than us, we go into a complex and instead of appreciating what we have we start fretting over the things that others have, thus causing depression and keeping us away from happiness. First of all a Muslim should never indulge in worldly comparisons as everyone has his or her own relation with Allah and the blessings also vary depending on the relation. However, if a Muslim is to make comparison then he should make the comparison with the ones who are below him or her in whatever entity the Muslim is comparing. Regarding this comparison, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said in a hadith:
“Look at those below you (less fortunate than you), and don’t look at those above you, for this is better.” (Muslim)

When a Muslim will compare him or herself with the less fortunate ones, then they will surely develop a feeling of being grateful and would feel happy and content for what they have instead of being worried about what others have and they cant get.

THE TRUE RELIGION OF GOD

0

THE TRUE RELIGION OF GOD

A man is born in a society which is not of his own choosing. The belief of his family or the ideology of the state is thrust upon him from the very beginning of his existence in this world. By the time he reaches his teens, he is usually fully brain-washed into believing that the beliefs of his particular society are the correct beliefs that everyone should have.

However, when some people mature and are exposed to other belief-systems, they begin to question the validity and authenticity of their own beliefs. The seekers of truth often reach a point of confusion upon realizing that each and every religion, sect, ideology and philosophy claims to be the one and only correct way for man. So, which one is right? They cannot all be right since each claims all others to be wrong.

God gave us all minds and intellects to enable us to make this crucial decision. It is the most important decision in the life of a human being. Upon it depends his future. Consequently, each and every one of us must examine dispassionately the evidence presented and choose what appears to be right until further evidence arises.

However, it must always be kept in mind that one can only determine the true path by putting aside emotions and prejudices, which often blind us to reality. Then, we will be able to use our God-given intelligence and make a rational and correct decision.

There are several arguments which may be advanced to support Islam’s claim to be the true religion of God. The first point is based on the Divine origin of the name of the religion and the comprehensiveness of its meaning. The second deals with the unique and uncomplicated teachings concerning the relationship between God, man, and creation. The third argument derives from the fact that Islam is universally attainable by all men at all times. These are the three basic components of what logic and reason dictate necessary for a religion to be considered the true religion of God.

THE RELIGION’S NAME

The first thing that one should know and clearly understand about Islam is what the word “Islam” itself means. The Arabic word “Islam” means peace and it also means submission or surrender of one’s will to the only true God, known in Arabic as “Allah”. One who submits his will to God is termed in Arabic a “Muslim”.

The religion of Islam is not named after a person or people, nor was it decided by a later generation of man. Islam (submission to the will of God) is the religion which was given to Adam (pbuh), the first man and the first prophet of God, and it was the religion of all the prophets sent by Allah to mankind.

إِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْإِسْلَٰم

Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam. (Qur’an 3:19)

Furthermore, its name was chosen by God Himself and clearly mentioned in the final scripture which He revealed to man. In the final revelation (the Qur’an)

This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion. (Qur’an 5:3)

And whoever desires other than Islam as religion – never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers. (Qur’an 3:85)

Hence, Islam does not claim to be a new religion brought by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) into Arabia in the seventh century, but rather to be a re-expression and fulfilment in its final form of the true religion of Almighty God, Allah, as it was originally revealed to Adam (pbuh) and subsequent prophets.

OTHER RELIGION’S NAME

Nowhere in the Bible will you find God revealing to Prophet Moses (pbuh) that their religion is called Judaism, or to the followers of Christ (pbuh) that their religion is called Christianity.

Christianity was named after Jesus Christ (pbuh), Buddhism after Gautama Buddha, Confucianism after Confucius, Marxism after Karl Marx, Zoroastrianism after Zoroaster, Sikhism from sisya after guru Nanak, Judaism after the tribe of Judah, and Hinduism after the Hindus.

In other words, the names “Judaism” and “Christianity” had no divine approval. It was not until long after their departure that the name “Christianity” was given to Jesus’ (pbuh) religion.

What, then, was Jesus’ (p) religion in actual fact, as distinct from its name? His religion was reflected in his teachings, which he urged his followers to accept as guiding principles in their relationship with God. Like the prophets before him, he called upon the people to surrender their will to the will of God (which is what Islam stands for). In the New Testament, it is stated that Jesus (pbuh) taught his followers to pray to God as follows:

Note: will

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name, may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (Luke 11:2; Matt. 6:9-10)

This concept was emphasized by Jesus (pbuh) in a number of his statements recorded in the Gospels. He taught that only those who submitted to the will of Allaah would inherit Paradise.

“None of those who call me ‘Lord’ will enter the kingdom of God, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.” (Matt. 7:21)

“I cannot do anything of myself. I judge as I hear and my judgment is honest because I am not seeking my own will but the will of Him Who sent me.” (John 5:30)

For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. (John:6:38)

There are many reports in the Gospels which show that Jesus (pbuh) taught that God (Allaah) is one and not three in one. Jesus make it clear that the first of all commandments is belief in oneness of God which is the shahada. For a man to be a Muslim he/she must believe in oneness of Allaah (God)

28. And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

29. And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

Mark:12:28-29

If we are to agree with the common terms in the Bible and Qur’an, then we will come to the conclusion that Islam is the way to eternal life (jannat), because Moses believed God is one (Deuteronomy 6:4) Jesus believed same (mark 12:29) and the seal of all that were sent testified that Allaah is indeed one Qur’an 112:1-4.

Jesus (pbuh) like the prophets before him and the one who came after him taught the religion of Islam: submission to the will of the One true God.

Allahu musta’an

Nabeel Qureshi is gone

0

And Nabeel Qureshi is gone “too”… Between Reality and Selective Evangelism.

Being human, I was shocked to read about the demise of Nabeel Qureshi. My mind raced back to the debates I had in memory of people like Akbar Sidi and Khalid Stainless Critic. Sheikh Ahmed Deedat also came to mind and the countless number of times we have tried to explain that his death was not connected with his exposing falsehood and no one but Allah took him as Death is a must for every soul.

During debates, we Muslims try to explain that death, mishap, misery, loss are natural phenomena and tests from Allah and should not be a reason for anyone to leave the deen as Christian apologists thrive on this.

It is unfortunate Nabeel Qureshi was park of those who linked Sheikh Ahmed Deedat’s death to his debate and was instrumental to bringing about some Christians mocking the Sheikh’s death.

SELECTIVE EVANGELISM

Some tools used by Christian apologists are lies and deceit. While they engage in these, the reality is being ignored.

An average Christian Evangelist wanting to win the soul of a non-Christian is usually deceptive. To him, the non-Muslim should not be poor, sad, lose a loved one rather he should have enough and enjoy in life and that could only be given by Jesus.

When he gets to a fellow Christian, he teaches patience and perseverance. He makes reference to Sarah, Hannah, as for poverty, he says Jesus Christ had no place to sleep.

LISTEN!

For those who do not know Nabeel Qureshi, he was an American Christmas apologist who converted “from” Ahmadiyya. He used to engage in debate and also wrote books against Islam. However, no same Muslim will claim what he used to do killed him. Death is a MUST for everyone.

This is a lesson for all Christians to open their eyes to the reality. If the several pastors that perform miracles here and there cannot just lay hands on Nabeel Qureshi, then all miracle preaching pastors are but liars. Last year, a cross was said to have appeared in a mosque in Nassarawa. I went there, made a video then proved the story was false. Seeing the overwhelming number of Christians going there for miracles, I requested that they should take Nabeel Qureshi and Yinka Ayefele there for their miracles but NO!

I was involved on a ghastly motor accident last month that was almost fatal. Someone came to the hospital to remind me about talking against Jesus (which I don’t do) and also blamed the accident on my frequent lectures.

A Christian told me I’ll encounter Jesus on leaving the hospital while the Muslims were met with different stories from Christians. May our test(s) not be a reason for people to go astray. Ameen. Had I died, I might have gone and while the Muslims are being laughed, the death of Nabeel could have shut them up. AlhamduliLlahi Robbil ‘Alameen, I’m alive and recovering.

We should learn that death is a decree for everyone regardless of what we do. Mocking a dead person, deceptive Evangelism, delusion, illusion should be shunned. “He who mocks the dead should not die”

One day, it will not matter when we die but what we died upon… Kalla Sawfa Ta’alamun.

MEDIA PROPAGANDA AND IPOB ATTACKS ON MUSLIMS

on (Friday, September 15), virtually all Nigerian dailies have as their front cover stories and pictures the IPOB/Military face-off in the South East”_with different kickers, banner headlines and riders – depending on whose interest they are serving in the crisis.

Evidently, the agitation for Biafra by the Nnamdi Kanu-led IPOB is the number 1 news on the lips of many Nigerians. As such, no media would want to miss out.

Unfortunately, out of five (5) newspapers – The Punch, Guardian, New Telegraph, Daily Independent and Daily Trust – I managed to secure for this analysis, only one (1) – Daily Trust – acknowledged on the cover headline IPOB attacks on Muslims at Oyigbo in Rivers State, with the cover picture of members of Rivers State Council for Islamic Affairs (RSCIA) during a news conference held yesterday to address the crisis.

Note that other media were at the conference. They did attend the press conference, and watched the Muslim representatives narrate how the IPOB members attacked innocent Muslims at the famous Central Mosque in Oyigbo Local Government, only for them to downplay the attacks on the Muslims in yesterday’s edition of their newspapers.

Or do they want the Muslims to pay for front cover coverage of their story?

In the one and a half page coverage of the crisis (including cover headlines and pictures of The Punch, no mention was made of the attack on Muslims in Rivers state in the IPOB/Military face-off stories written by 7 Correspondents across Nigeria.

There was also no mention of the attack in the New Telegraph (check also page 2, 3 and 6), as well as The Guardian’s front cover stories. Daily Independent only published a 3-paragraph story from the RSCIA press conference and hid it inside page A8.

The exclusion of the attacks on Muslims from the front cover headlines (or even as riders) was a deliberate attempt to downplay the attacks as if they never occurred or were just _”mere claims”_ by the Rivers Muslim leaders.

Many thanks to Daily Trust, which gave the Muslim community a resounding voice. The Abuja-based newspaper could have joined the ranks of the Muslim bashers, but for the passion it has for Islam (content wise, it reflects Islam) and Northerners. The newspaper dedicated its front cover to the RSCIA story, as explained at the press conference where the Muslim community warned IPOB _”to stop unwarranted attacks and killing of Muslims in the State.

It is unfortunate that some newspapers are yet to report the Rivers IPOB attack, which is already everywhere on social media. Some will never publish it, because the victims are Muslims. What is that word for the person who hides the truth in order to deceive the people?

However, I am afraid? You know why? There must not be a reprisal attack of Igbo in the North, because the biased, Christian-dominated media will not spare the Northerners, as they have always been victims of negative media reportage.

Unlike the South East elders who condoned IPOB’s lawlessness and got away with it because of their enormous media power, the Northern leaders will not be so lucky if they fail to call their youths to order.

Thank God, the Leader of the Nigerian Muslims, the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Abubakar Sa’ad III is already spreading the message of peace; preaching against negative actions, and insisting that, “Nigerians can live in peace with one another irrespective of their tribal, ethnic, or religious differences”

By the way, I have seen a couple of media (particularly online) referring to one Abdulkadir Erkahraman as a Turkish diplomat! The Sun Online of July 17 wrote: _”Turkish government seeks partnership with IPOB leadership”;_ Vanguard News headline of July 15 reads: _”Turkish Diplomat Visits Nnamdi Kanu”;_ and Daily Post shamelessly quoted Mr Erkahraman in its headline of September 15, saying _”Biafra Army will soon kill President Buhari”._ Is this not absurd?

Who made Mr Erkahraman a Turkish envoy? It is the Nigerian media of course or rather, the IPOB propaganda media disguising as a socially, morally, and ethically responsible media. It is a failed attempt to smear the good relationship that exists between Nigeria and President Tayyip Erdogan’s country, Turkey.

Mr Erkahraman is an impostor and according to reports from the Turkish Embassy in Nigeria, he is an agent of the Fetullah Gulen Terrorist Group, with the agenda to sow seeds of discord between Nigeria and Turkey.

It is our job as journalists to put our country first by exposing evil agents who want to use the IPOB agitation to destabilise Nigeria. I leave you with this quote attributed to Betty Irabor, a Nigerian writer and columnist. She wrote: _“Dear journalists, remember that the news you put out there can further exacerbate the on-going crisis. Be professional, avoid fake news. Nation first”_
