Love means a variety of different feelings states and attitudes that ranges from interpersonal affection to pleasure.

The various type of love include that of the family, love for friend, love for spouse, love for status, love for personal self, and love for the supreme being (Allah) S.W.T. All the above are loved despite their temporary nature, and despite disappointments we often encounter in them.

In this article, we are going to focus on the love for Allah. Which is the greatest aspiration and precedence over all other loves.

If we put all properties we se in people that made us love them together, we will draw the conclusion that Allah alone deserves our love. Human beings are naturally inclined to love, and it is only Allah that can satisfy this need.

Indeed the heart will not find complete happiness except by loving Allah and striving towards what is dear to him.

Loving Allah is the easiest and greatest thing to do to achieve tranquility of the heart. When our heart and love is directed towards Allah, everything else will follow, all the aforementioned other kind of loves will come with easiness and less disappointment.

The first thing the prophet (S.A.W.) aid to the people of Madinah was “o people! Love Allah with all of your heart for what he has given you….”
Allah also said in the quran, Ibrahim 14:34

And He gave you from all you asked of Him. And if you should count the favor of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, mankind is [generally] most unjust and ungrateful.

There is no other way to be just and grateful for Allah’s immense favor over us than to love Him dearly with All our heart, love and build relationships for his sake alone. The best way to love Allah is by practicing ad encouraging all that he has commanded of us and even doing the extras, and by staying away and forbidding what he has commanded of us.

May Allah make us steadfast upon his deen and count us among those who will see his glorious face on the day of recompense. Aamin.
