The city of Jerusalem is said to have been destroyed at least twice, besieged 23 times, attacked 52 times, and captured and recaptured 44 times. Politics, Religion or Religio-Political movement contribute mostly to these destruction, attacks, and captures starting from the defeat of the Canaanites, Siege of Jerusalem ( 636-637), the destruction of Jerusalem by the Roman by Emperor Titus (70AD), The Capture of Jerusalem by the Crusaders ( 1099), Ottoman Rule (1517-1917), Battle of Jerusalem during WW1 (1917), Arab Israeli War (1948) and other subsequent “fights”.
The recent declaration of Donald Trump recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is a perfect example of politics on the part of America and its allies. We cannot say there is any religious interest rather, an act of pleasing his voters hence buying votes for himself in the next election, and also an avenue to create WW111. gone are the days we create weapons to fight wars, we now create wars to sell weapons.
CHRISTIANS
Christians (especially those in Nigeria) see Trump’s declaration as a sign of to-be victory using the likes of Reno Omokri and FFk as examples. The interest of the Christians in Jerusalem is more religious than political. They do not lay claim to the land and they are not intending to gain control of Jerusalem (for now). I think that their hatred for Muslims that makes them celebrate the declaration is also religious. They see the recent happenings in Jerusalem as a war between Islam and Judaism than the “Who Owns Jerusalem?” question. I have written several articles to debunk the erroneous claim that religion is a tool of enslavement and control but the claim is justified in the relations of Christianity with the Jews.
In my book, “Truth for the Truth Seekers”, I asked a very serious question. When we show Christians the laws of Sabbath, killing children that curse their parents, burnt offerings, kill women that are not virgins on wedding nights etc in the Old Testament, they tell us that they are Jewish laws. I ask, “What are Jewish laws doing in Christians’ Bibles? Christians are slaves of the Jews and they will always be because they seem not to be able to do without the Jews.
How do we define wanting those who do not want you? A layman would think that Christians should love the Muslims than the Jews but No! Jesus (‘Eesa) is the major and most important figure in Christianity. While Muslims claim to believe in Jesus, revere him and his mother, consider him a great messenger of Allah ( though he is not believed to be more than the son of God), the Jews consider Mary to be a whore and Jesus, a bastard. The Jews do not respect anything about Christianity but the Christians cannot help but follow them blindly. A case of “He who gives you the book controls you”.
In Israel, the population of Christians is just about 2% compared to Saudi Arabia where they constitute about 4%. In Lebanon, the Christians are 40.4%, in Jordan, they are 4-5% worthy to note that 60-80% of the 2% of Christians in Israel are Arab Christians. One would think that all Christians living in Israel are granted Citizenship with the way Christians run after Israel but NO! They hate Christians for believing in the concept of Trinity and the easiest way to lose your citizenship is to convert from Judaism to Christianity!
Why do Christians even bother themselves when Jesus, Moses, Jacob, Isaac, Abraham and others were not Christians?

it is important to note that Judaism is different from Zionism.
There is a big difference between Zionism and Judaism. Judaism describes the Jewish faith whereas Zionism defines the philosophy behind an exclusively Jewish state which is the physical and spiritual homeland meant exclusively for the Jewish people. The latter is a very fundamentalist outlook and is much reviled, particularly amongst the Arabs.
All Zionist are Jews, but not all Jews are Zionists. There are Jews in many parts of the world. Most of them live in Israel and America. Now all of them certainly believe in Judaism, but not all of them would subscribe to the hard-line exclusivist vision of the Zionists. The Zionist movement arose in Europe in the late nineteenth century out of a desire to end the exile of the Jewish people and return them to the holy land by force if necessary.
Summary:
1.Judaism describes the Jewish faith. Zionism defines the philosophy behind an exclusively Jewish state.
2.All Zionists are Jews, but not all Jews are Zionists.
3.Judaism is more about spirituality but Zionism is more about racism.

Therefore, A Jew who believes in Zionism has a political and religious interest. One question people ask is, “Why should Palestinian Arabs claim the land?” and I answer, ” Bring us the BLACK JEWS that took the lands of Canaan/Phoenicia so we can ask when they stopped being black!”. Meanwhile, Abraham, the father of the Jews was not a Jew.
MUSLIMS
The city of Jerusalem connects Christians, Jews, and Muslims. Masjid Al-Qudus which is the third holiest site in Islam is the major interest of Muslims worldwide, the Palestinians being a Muslim majority is also an addition. When Donald Trump made the declaration, many Arab leaders have reacted with the President of Turkey, Erdogan being at the forefront (my opinion).
In the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, countries like Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Syria, and Saudi Arabia fought against Israel. it is 2017, we will watch as events unfold. Some Arab nations are allies of the USA which is an ally of Israel. If a war eventually breaks out, North Korea and Russia might get involved but maybe not on the same side as USA.
As regards Arab nations, tomorrow will tell us. Meanwhile, this declaration is seen by some Muslims and they think that except we all unite on Tawheed, we cannot get back Masjid Al-aqsa. Accord to the Manhaj of the pious predecessors, Islam is totally against protest.
My take on the paragraph above: We cannot rule out the importance of Tawheed in this regard. However, I imagine how long it would take for 80% of Muslims to be united on Tawheed and if Muslims unite on Tawheed, would just 50% of the leaders of OIC embrace Tawheed which just does not mean believing in the oneness of Allah without associating partners with Him but also looking up to and calling onto Allah alone for help? Would some of the leaders cut ties with the West when we all unite on Tawheed? If no, how will Muslims united on Tawheed stand for their rights when we have some leaders who are not on Tawheed? Fight them along with the enemies?
For the sake of our hereafter, it is important to embrace Tawheed but if the only condition to stand up for what is ours is for us to be united on Tawheed, let us all just pray and do not get involved in any silly protest. The interpretation of uniting on Tawheed as a condition is “leave Jerusalem for them, Allah will give us back if He wills”. Maybe everyone will be on Tawheed when Jerusalem had been besieged, destroyed, captured, recaptured, captured, recaptured again 4-5 times. ( These are pertinent questions and do not make the author an Ikhwani or khawarij)
Qur’an 8:73;
And those who disbelieved are allies of one another. If you do not do so, there will be fitnah on earth and great corruption.
