In our world of today, we see the never-ending hatred against Islam and Muslims. If the Muslim is not killed in China, he is oppressed in India, victimized in New Zealand and hated in Australia.
The records have shown that Islamophobia exists though the media is portraying it as a cry too loud when it is, in fact, a cry too little. While the Muslim is killed in Gaza and no one cares, the Muslim is made to stand up for Paris and Texas. We are at the receiving end of most terrorist activities yet, the oppressors do the crying.
Last week, an extreme right-wing group, Stop The Islamization of Norway (SION), held a protest against Islam and attempted to burn the Qur’an in the Norwegian City of Kristiansand. A Muslim youth kicked the person who wanted to burn the Qur’an. However, the group’s leader desecrated the Qur’an by throwing it in a bin container. One day, Islam would be called a violent religion for the kick but no one would say a thing about why the guy got a kick.
In Africa, Nigeria as a case study, the false flag of Islamization is conspicuous. The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) took charge of the ‘Islamization’ theory in Nigeria. It did not take a long time for the President, Muhammadu Buhari to be called a Jihadist as the media is ever ready to serve as a tool of propaganda.
While Muslims have been more at the receiving end of the terrorist group, Boko Haram, it is being portrayed as a war against Christians and a service to Islam. In fact, a very popular pastor had, in a Sunday Service, preached against Islam on the pulpit, said there would be war and may not mind the blood of one who appears like a Muslim being spilled.
Recall that Brenton Tarrant, the New Zealand terrorist who killed about 50 Muslims and left many injured on a Friday wrote a Manifesto. The Manifesto represented, not just his opinion, but that of several others making the Muslims an endangered people. Unfortunately, many Muslims did not read the Manifesto.
Bat Ye’or’s book, “Eurabia, the Euro-Arab” (2005) is another false alarm. Benjamin Lee of the Centre for Research and Evidence on Security Threats at the University of Lancaster describes her work as arguing that Europe “has surrendered to Islam and is in a state of submission (described as dhimmitude) in which Europe is forced to deny its own culture, stand silently by in the face of Muslim atrocities, accept Muslim immigration, and pay tribute through various types of economic assistance.”
While her work was said to be disregarded, current happenings around the world that her theory has gained public interest and is believed by Islamophobes, right-wing extremists and conservative activists.
Indeed, Muslims are too silent. Even though we have been refuting these propaganda recently, we need to do more with the never-ending attack and propaganda against Islam. It is pathetic that there is no response to Brenton Tarrant’s Manifesto and Bat Ye’or’s “Eurabia” from the Muslim world. We disregard propaganda which, with time, is bought and acted upon.
Despite these, Islam has continued to grow and will never cease to grow even if the enemies hate it. Allah says,
