CHEATING AND DECEPTION

CHEATING and DECEPTION

Cheating and deception are despicable characteristics that are beneath a decent person. Intentionally distorting the truth in order to mislead others contradicts the values of honesty, which requires an attitude of sincerity, straightforwardness, and fairness that leaves no room for cheating, lying, trickery, or deceit. There are many texts from the Qur’an and the Sunnah conveying the meaning that cheating, whether the target be Muslims or non-Muslims, is forbidden.

Accepting the guidance of Islam leads a person to truthfulness, which means a person completely avoids cheating and back-stabbing. The Prophet of Islam said:
“Whoever bears arms against us is not one of us, and whoever cheats us is not one of us.” (Saheeh Muslim)
According to another report, the Prophet passed by a pile of food in the market. He put his hand inside it and felt dampness, alth-ough the surface was dry. He said:
‘O owner of the food, what is this?’ The man said, ‘It was damaged by rain, O Messenger of God.’
He said, ‘Why did you not put the rain-damaged food on top so that people could see it! Whoever cheats us is not one of us.” (Saheeh Muslim)
Muslim society is based on purity of feeling, love, sincerity toward every Muslim, and fulfillment of promises to every member of society. Its members are endowed with piety, truthfulness, and faithfulness. Cheating and deception are alien characters in contrast to the noble character of a true Muslim. There is no room in it for swindlers, double crossers, tricksters, or traitors.

Islam views cheating and deception as heinous sins, a source of shame to the one guilty of committing them, both in this world and the next. The Prophet, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, did not merely denounce them by excluding them from the Muslim community in this world, he also announced that on the Day of Judgment every traitor would be raised carrying the flag of his betrayal.

A caller will cry out from the vast arena of judgment, pointing to him, drawing attention to him:
“Every traitor will have a banner on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said: This is the betrayer of so-and-so.” (Saheeh Al-Bukhari)
The shame of traitors — men and women — will be immense. Those who thought that their betrayal had been forgotten will find it right there, exposed for the whole world to see on banners raised high held by their own hands!

The Prophet of Islam said: “God said: There are three whom I will oppose on the Day of Resurrection: a man who gave his word and then betrayed it; a man who sold a free man into slavery and kept the money; and a man who hired someone, benefited from his labor, then did not pay his wages. (Saheeh Al-Bukhari)
One should steer clear of all the various forms of deceit and deception present in today’s society. Cheating is common in examinations, business transactions, and even between spouses and loved ones. Placing a label on domestically-made products to make it seem that it is imported is a kind of fraud. Some people give wrong advice when their council is sought and thus deceive the person who believes he is getting good advice. An employee should do the job for what he is paid for without any deception or cheating.

Rulers rig the ballot to win elections and cheat the whole nation. Cheating between spouses and having extra-marital affairs is widespread in modern society. A Muslim should value himself too highly to be among those who cheat or deceive perchance one might fall in the category of hypocrites about whom the Prophet said:
“There are four characteristics, whoever has all of them is a true hypocrite, and whoever has one of them has one of the qualities of a hypocrite until he gives it up: when he is trusted, he betrays; when he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when he disputes, he resorts to slander.” (Saheeh Al-Bukhari, Saheeh Muslim)
Therefore, a Muslim who has true Islamic sensitivities avoids deceit, cheating, treachery, and lying no matter what benefits or profits such activities might bring him, because Islam considers those guilty of such deeds to be hypocrites.

TREATMENT OF WOMEN

TREATMENT OF WOMEN IN ISLAM

BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem.

Taking good care of women and treating them with kindness is an act of worship and whoever treat women especially our wives bady is commiting a major sin. Marriage is not slavery but companionship which is a trust from Allah and Allah will judge us as to how we treated our wives.

Allah saysin the Quran:
وَعَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ
Live with them in kindness. Surat An-Nisa 4:19. This is a command from Allah not a request as such whoever goes againstthe commands of Allaah is committing a major sin.

Out beloved Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, also commanded us to treat women well by saying;
Treat women well, for woman is created from a rib and the most curved portion of the rib is its upper portion. If you try to straighten it, it will break, but if you leave it as it is, it will remain curved. So treat women with kindness. Sahih Bukhari 3153.

Our beloved Messenger of Allaah. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said:
How does one of you beat his wife as he beats the stallion camel and then embrace her? Sahih Bukhari 5695. This is a warning from the Prophet that no one should beat his wife. Your wife may have a bad attitude but beating her can only worsen the situation, imagine you are using your China phone and it freezes, are you going to be patient for it to respond or you start beating or hitting it?

The Messenger gave an alternative way to handle such woman by saying,
A believer should not despise a believing woman. If he finds something in her character he dislikes, he will be pleased by something else. Sahih Muslim 1469. This means we should be patient with them and also look for their good side not their bad side.

Our beloved Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family thought us how to handle immoral wife by saying:
I enjoin you to treat women well, for they are like captives in your hand. Verily, you may not treat them otherwise unless they commit flagrant immorality. If they do so, then you may separate from their beds and strike them without causing pain but if they return to good conduct, then you may do nothing against them. You have rights over your wives and they have rights over you. Your right is that they will not allow anyone you dislike to enter your home, and their right is that you should treat them well regarding food, love, clothing, care and even you can help them in house chores.

Sunan At-Tirmidhi 1163. To strike her is not to beat her as some ignorance interpret it. Scholars gave example as using miswaak (tooth stick) to hit your child for his or attention to you. The Prophet never hit any of his wives so let’s follow the sunnah.

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said:
The most complete of the believers in faith are those with the best character, and the best of you are the best in behavior to their women.
Sunan At-Tirmidhi 1162. May Allah aid us to apply the teachings of Allah and His Messenger in our ways of daily life. Aameen.

Important Message From Knowislam.com.ng

Yesterday, I was with Ustaadh Kabir Al-asfar, Sirnucy Lafiagi and Ibn Abdillah As-sudaissy. We discussed problems facing the Muslim world. This is a world where we say more and do less.

Given that there are many Muslims out there who do not even know many scholars of the Deen, something should be done. The likes of Ibn Baaz, Sheikh Al-albanee are only well known among students of knowledge.

I made a video on this and touched some other areas too. Those willing to study Comparative Religion should enroll at ACADIP Online Institute Of Comparative Religion Studies (Aicos.com.ng). There, one has to learn about Islam and Islamic Da’wah methodology before taking on Comparative Religion.

As part of the plan to take the Qur’an and Sunnah closer to the people, we have made knowislam.com.ng available for Scholars of the Deen who are on the Qur’an and Sunnah based on the understanding of the pious predecessors. We will create sections for each of these willing scholars where we will upload their books, audios and videos. Those who are close to these scholars too can get it touch with us to make their works available.

Also, we are creating another section, “Reverts Corner”. This section will house reverts’ stories, address the psychological, spiritual and financial issues facing reverts. Part of the plan is also to make the “Host a revert” work again. We will connect those who would love to host reverts during ‘Eid with reverts who would love to be hosted in different states and countries.

AlhamduliLlah, Ustadh Isma’eel Olanrewaju Abu Umaamah is willing to teach 20-40 reverts Tajweed online. Any revert willing to learn should get in touch with us @[email protected].

We are still writing on comparative religion, refuting lies and propaganda against Islam. We are making the website available for work of Scholars, kindly get in touch with us.

I made a video where I talked about these and many other topics. Kindly watch and share…

… Telling the Muslim story

A tale of two AbdulHakeems

0

AbdulHakeem AbdulLateef, otherwise known as “Honourable Iyepe”, is a revered Islamic scholar who is also the Honourable Commissioner for Home Affairs of Lagos State. His series of lectures has influenced many Muslims and non-Muslims positively. He has successfully led thousands of Lagos pilgrims to Hajj in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, commendable efforts which have earned the State the Best Performing Hajj Operator award a number of times.

The second AbdulHakeem, otherwise known as “The Dream”, is the American NBA’s most famous Muslim player, who became a committed Muslim during his professional career spanning 17 seasons in the American basketball league.

The taller in the picture (about 7 feet), the Nigerian-born basketball Hall of Famer has helped many Muslims and non-Muslims alike through his Islamic Daw’ah Centre in Houston, USA. In April 2016, he opened his Library of Islamic Knowledge, which reportedly gulped about $2.5 million dollars, housed within the Centre.

These two AbdulHakeems have made me realize that whatever profession or occupation you find yourself, be it politics, sports or even journalism, you should do your best for Islam and Muslims.

The New Testament

Both read the Bible day and night,
But thou read’st black where I read white. —William Blake, The Everlasting Gospel
Of course, Blake’s sentiment in the quote above is nothing new. The New
Testament contains enough inconsistencies to have spawned a dizzying variety of
interpretations, beliefs and religions, all allegedly Biblebased. And so, we find one
author offering the amusing observation:
You can and you can’t,
You shall and you shan’t,
You will and you won’t,
And you will be damned if you do,
And you will be damned if you don’t.

Why such variance in viewpoints? To begin with, different theological camps
disagree on which books should be included in the Bible. One camp’s apocrypha is
another’s scripture. Secondly, even among those books that have been canonized, the
many variant source texts lack uniformity. This lack of uniformity is so ubiquitous that
The Interpreter’s Dictionary of the Bible states, “It is safe to say that there is not one
sentence in the NT in which the MS [manuscript] tradition is wholly uniform.”192
Not one sentence? We can’t trust a single sentence of the Bible? Hard to believe. Maybe.
The fact is that there are over 5700 Greek manuscripts of all or part of the New
Testament. 193 Furthermore, “no two of these manuscripts are exactly alike in all their
particulars…. And some of these differences are significant.”
194 Factor in roughly ten
thousand manuscripts of the Latin Vulgate, add the many other ancient variants (i.e.,
Syriac, Coptic, Armenian, Georgian, Ethiopic, Nubian, Gothic, Slavonic), and what do
we have?
A lot of manuscripts.
A lot of manuscripts that fail to correspond in places and not infrequently
contradict one another. Scholars estimate the number of manuscript variants in the
hundreds of thousands, some estimating as high as 400,000. 195 In Bart D. Ehrman’s now famous words, “Possibly it is easiest to put the matter in comparative terms: there are
more differences in our manuscripts than there are words in the New Testament.”
196
How did this happen?
Poor record keeping. Dishonesty. Incompetence. Doctrinal prejudice. Take your
pick.
None of the original manuscripts have survived from the early Christian
period. 197 /198 The most ancient complete manuscripts (Vatican MS. No. 1209 and the
Sinaitic Syriac Codex) date from the fourth century, three hundred years after Jesus’
ministry. But the originals? Lost. And the copies of the originals? Also lost. Our most
ancient manuscripts, in other words, are copies of the copies of the copies of nobody
knowsjusthowmany copies of the originals.
No wonder they differ.
In the best of hands, copying errors would be no surprise. However, New
Testament manuscripts were not in the best of hands. During the period of Christian
origins, scribes were untrained, unreliable, incompetent, and in some cases illiterate. 199
Those who were visually impaired could have made errors with lookalike letters and
words, while those who were hearingimpaired may have erred in recording scripture as it
was read aloud. Frequently scribes were overworked, and hence inclined to the errors that
accompany fatigue.
In the words of Metzger and Ehrman, “Since most, if not all, of them [the scribes] would have been amateurs in the art of copying, a relatively large number of mistakes no doubt crept into their texts as they reproduced them.”
200 Worse yet, some scribes allowed
doctrinal prejudice to influence their transmission of scripture. 201 As Ehrman states, “The
scribes who copied the texts changed them.”202 More specifically, “The number of
deliberate alterations made in the interest of doctrine is difficult to assess.”
203 And even
more specifically, “In the technical parlance of textual criticism—which I retain for its
significant ironies—these scribes ‘corrupted’ their texts for theological reasons.”204
Errors were introduced in the form of additions, deletions, substitutions and
modifications, most commonly of words or lines, but occasionally of entire verses. 205 206
In fact, “numerous changes and accretions came into the text,”
207 with the result that “all
known witnesses of the New Testament are to a greater or lesser extent mixed texts, and
even several of the earliest manuscripts are not free from egregious errors.”
208
In Misquoting Jesus, Ehrman presents persuasive evidence that the story of the
woman taken in adultery (John 7:538:12) and the last twelve verses of Mark were not in
the original gospels, but added by later scribes. 209 Furthermore, these examples “represent
just two out of thousands of places in which the manuscripts of the New Testament came
to be changed by scribes.”

In fact, entire books of the Bible were forged. 211 This doesn’t mean their content
is necessarily wrong, but it certainly doesn’t mean it’s right. So which books were
forged? Ephesians, Colossians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, 1 and 2 Peter,
and Jude—a whopping nine of the twentyseven New Testament books and epistles—are
to one degree or another suspect. 212
Forged books? In the Bible?
Why are we not surprised? After all, even the gospel authors are unknown. In
fact, they’re anonymous. 213 Biblical scholars rarely, if ever, ascribe gospel authorship to
Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John. As Ehrman tells us, “Most scholars today have
abandoned these identifications, and recognize that the books were written by otherwise
unknown but relatively welleducated Greekspeaking (and writing) Christians during the
second half of the first century.”
214 Graham Stanton affirms, “The gospels, unlike most
GraecoRoman writings, are anonymous. The familiar headings which give the name of
an author (‘The Gospel according to …’) were not part of the original manuscripts, for
they were added only early in the second century.” 215
So what, if anything, did Jesus’ disciples have to do with authoring the gospels?
Little or nothing, so far as we know. But we have no reason to believe they authored any
of the books of the Bible. To begin with, let us remember Mark was a secretary to Peter,
and Luke a companion to Paul. The verses of Luke 6:1416 and Matthew 10:24
catalogue the twelve disciples, and although these lists differ over two names, Mark and Luke don’t make either list. So only Matthew and John were true disciples. But all the
same, modern scholars pretty much disqualify them as authors anyway. Why?
Good question. John being the more famous of the two, why should we disqualify
him from having authored the Gospel of “John”?
Umm … because he was dead?
Multiple sources acknowledge there is no evidence, other than questionable
testimonies of second century authors, to suggest that the disciple John was the author of
the Gospel of “John.”216 217 Perhaps the most convincing refutation is that the disciple
John is believed to have died in or around 98 CE. 218 However, the Gospel of John was
written circa 110 CE. 219 So whoever Luke (Paul’s companion), Mark (Peter’s secretary),
and John (the unknown, but certainly not the longdead one) were, we have no reason to
believe any of the gospels were authored by Jesus’ disciples.
To this end, Stanton poses a compelling question: “Was the eventual decision to
accept Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John correct? Today it is generally agreed that neither
Matthew nor John was written by an apostle. And Mark and Luke may not have been
associates of the apostles.

CONFUTATIONS TO FOUR LIES OF A CRITIC (Cont'd)

Muslims admit that prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was a human being. It is not unnatural for a man to fall in love. The fact that he is a prophet does not rob him of his natural human emotions. In fact it is true that he loved his wives. However, it is not true that he fell in love with Zainab in the way that is claimed by christian critics.

They said that once the prophet visited Zaid, the husband of Zainab. Zaid was out at the time, and Zainab was combing her hair. The prophet was struck by her beauty and immediately left saying something to the effect that God changes the hearts of people. When Zaid learnt about this incident he offered the prophet that he would divorce Zainab in order that the prophet may marry her. Accordingly, he divorced her and the prophet married her.

Several things point to the lack of truth in this story. First, it is unlikely that the prophet (pbuh) was suddenly struck by Zainab’s beauty. Zainab was his cousin. He had known her since childhood. Why would she suddenly appear striking after she was already married?

Second, the prophet had arranged for her to get married to Zaid. If there was to be an attraction why did the prophet (pbuh) not encourage her to marry none but himself? Third, the fact of the matter was that Zaid’s marriage proved to be an unhappy one. Zaid was a former slave and as such was held in low esteem in the eyes of Zainab. He mentioned to the prophet that he intended to divorce his wife. But the prophet advised him to keep his wife and avoid divorce. In the meantime, Zaid intended to divorce his wife, Allah intended to marry her to the prophet. Eventually Zaid could maintain his marriage no longer. He divorced Zainab and Allah declared in his Glorious Book that he has wedded her to the prophet after the proper waiting period was over. This marriage served more than one purpose. First, the prophet was responsible for arranging Zainab’s marriage to Zaid. Her marriage to the prophet now provided her the honour she felt she deserved, and exonerated the prophet. Second, Zaid had been adopted as the prophet’s son. Eventually, however, the Qur’an prohibited the practice of changing the parental identity of adopted persons. Zaid, then, was to no longer be called “son of Muhammad” but rather “a close friend.” The prophet’s marriage to the divorced wife of Zaid was a practical demonstration that the adopted relationship was not equal to a real blood-relationship. A man cannot marry the divorced wife of his real son but he can marry the divorced wife of his adopted son. The abolishment of the age-old practice was a positive improvement for the adopted persons. People outside of Islam still continue this practice for their own benefit. They adopt children and rob them of their real identify, making them believe they are real children of the household in which they grow up. When such children realize the truth they suffer much disappointment and grief. The adoptive process continues for the selfish gain of the adoptive parents. But is it not true that children sometimes need adoptive parents? Yes. But they also need to preserve their real identify. This is what Islam ensures. It is the responsibility of the entire community to help children in need. They should be taken in and nurtured but not confused with one’s own children. The prophet’s marriage to Zainab was a bold measure to forever engrave in the minds of his followers that as much as people would resist change, some changes are worth the effort. Adoptive children should no longer be robbed of their real identities. (Source: http://www.islaminfo.com/new/detail.asp?ID=28) Some of the Prophet’s

All in a nutshell, prophet Muhammad married Zaynab after Zayd divorced her. And logically and lawfully, it is legal for a divorced woman to remarry.

What this critics are trying to apply is in the Bible, I believe they don’t know this, because if they do, they wouldn’t have tried skewing the Marriage of prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and Zaynab. Let’s take a look at some verses of the Bible…

In the Bible, it is recorded that “lot” impregnated his own two daughters Genesis 19:30-36

How can a supposed prophet of God impregnate his own daughters? This is incest.

In another verse of the Bible, a man called Reuben slept with Bilhah, his father’s wife .
Genesis:35:22

Son slept with his father’s wife? Any Christian who claim to believe and follow the Bible should try putting this into practice, less he will face the nemesis and aftereffects.

3. MUHAMMED ORDERED AND SUPPORTED THE KILLING OF PEOPLE.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) never supported the Killings of people Indiscriminately, but for a means of defence when being attacked.

“SLAY THEM”–IF THEY ATTACK YOU FIRST”
For example, one verse (in its snipped version) reads:

“slay them wherever you catch them” (Qur’an 2:191).

But who is this referring to? Who are “they” that this verse discusses? The preceding and following verses gives the correct context:

“Fight in the cause of God those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for God loves not transgressors. And slay them wherever you catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter. . . But if they cease, God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. . . If they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression”

Quran 2:190-193

It is clear from the context that these verses are discussing a defensive war, in which a Muslim community is attacked without reason, oppressed and prevented from practicing its faith. In these circumstances, permission is given to FIGHT BACK, but even then Muslims are instructed not to transgress limits and to cease fighting as soon as the attacker gives up. Even in these circumstances, Muslims are only to fight directly against those who are attacking them, not innocent bystanders, women, children or non-combatants.

As Muslims, we are allowed to defend ourselves even to kill whoever attack us with the intentions of killing us. We are not to kill indiscriminately or without any justifiable means.

Ostentatiously, the bible supported terrorism, the killings of innocent people, Bystanders, women, children and noncombatant. Below are some verses to buttress my claim…

And the congregation sent thither twelve thousand men of the valiantest, and commanded them, saying, Go and smite the inhabitants of Jabeshgilead WITH THE EDGE OF THE SWORD, with the women and the children.
Judges:21:10

Now therefore KILL every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
Numbers:31:17

The below verse is one of the worst verses of the Bible that breeds terrorism in this 21st century, the writer of this verse must be heartless. It commands the killings of animals, infant and suckling.

Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.
1 Samuel:15:3

A question to the critic, What is the sin of animals and the sucklings?

Islam does not permit this act even during the holy battles, Muslims are not allowed to kill animals and sucklings.

4. MUHAMMAD THREATENED PEOPLE TO EITHER ACCEPT ISLAM OR BE KILLED OR PAY COMPULSORY LEVY

This is one of the false claims spewed by clueless Christians which is as a result of being brainwashed. This claim has no bases and proofs, and thus it is hocus-pocus garnered to convince Muslims to join darkness (Christianity)

How is this possible when several verses of the Quran sternly against the killings of innocent souls?

How is this possible when Allaah told us in the Quran that, “there shall be no compulsion in religion” that is, Muslims must not force anyone to embrace Islam. Forcing people to embrace Islam is a sin simply because it strong run horizontal to the law in Quran 2:256. There is no iota of truth in this accusations. Allaah said in the Glorious Quran…

THERE SHALL BE NO COMPULSION IN ACCEPTANCE OF RELIGION. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

Quran 2:256

Above is a verse from the Quran that strongly against the acts of forcing people to accept Islam. Islam vehemently condemned the killing of innocent people for not embracing Islam.

O you who have believed, do not consume one another’s wealth unjustly but only [in lawful] business by mutual consent. AND DO NOT KILL YOURSELVES [OR ONE ANOTHER]. Indeed, Allah is to you ever Merciful.

Quran 4:29

In conclusion, let’s take a look at some commands of the biblical Jesus and God.

After Azariah the son of oded brought the word of God to king Asa in the book of Chronicles, he concluded that, whosoever would not seek the lord of Israel should be killed

That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.
2 Chronicles:15:13

The biblical Jesus ordered those who would not allow him to reign over them should be killed

But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

Luke:19:27

In conclusion, the above lies refuted was wriggled by a gadfly who is perfect in criticism. The non-muslims are trying all means to pour their venoms on prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and to paint Islam black, not knowing Allaah Azza’wajal has perfected Islam to overcome all man-made religions.

It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion, although they who associate others with Allah dislike it.

Quran 9:33. At-Taubah

May Allaah guide and protect all believers. Aamyyn.

CONFUTATIONS TO FOUR LIES OF A CRITIC

108

A friend of mine shared me a weak and enfeeble claim among the paltered claims of the Christian critic, written to cajole the weak Muslims. These claims are so weak that the critics failed to produce evidences to buttress his stance.

Lies are sometimes easy to be detected, ”He who alleges must prove” but unfortunately, the critic alleges without proving, thus this makes the critic a fabulist.

The critic said….

You guys keep amazing me with the claim that all what I said about Muhammad are lies. Are you claiming your Ahadith and Qur’an are not ‘reliable’ anymore?

Tell me which one of these is a lie

1. Muhammad married more than the allowed four wives for Muslim men.

2. Muhammad married Zaynab, the ex-wife of his adopted son, Zayd.

3. Muhammad ordered and supported the killing of people who abused, slander and criticized him.

4. Muhammad threatened some people to either accept Islam or be killed or pay compulsory levy.

Tell me which one is a lie. You can continue to blindly follow Muhammad and deceive your fellow Muslims too, but you can not deceive me into following him. Why? He is not a good example of a human being to emulate, not to talk of entrusting your eternal salvation to his unreliable revelations.

Dear readers, this refutation is a bit lengthy, kindly read to the end so as to gain full and not half information.
Let’s take the critic’s claims one after the other.

1. PROPHET MUHAMMED (PBUH) MARRIED MORE THAN THE ALLOWED FOUR WIVES FOR MUSLIM MEN.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was a master of his desires for the first 25 years of his life by being bachelor, chaste youth and also, he was faithful to only one woman for another 26 years of his life. It was after he lost his first wife that he had to marry another one.

Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) multiple marriages were to foster unity and build long lasting ties with people of other tribe. As at the time Islam was still growing in the midst of critics during Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) time, he used marriage to strengthen the ties of friendship in Arabia so as to unite them. Critical look at the marriages shows that, these marriages are mostly with divorcee and widows of other tribes. Or the widows of the slain muslims who had no means of sustenance to keep them going. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) used marriage as a tool to assist them in every way they could be needing assistance so as to prevent them from being apostates or even going into prostitution or criticism from them.
So prophet Muhammad did not marry his wives for his own desires, but it was due to the situation as at then, and that does go against the law of marriage in the Quran, because he was able to provide for them.

ANALYSING THE VERSE

“And if you fear that you will not deal justly with the orphan girls, then MARRY those that please you of [other] women, two or three or
four. But if you fear that you will not be just, THEN [MARRY ONLY] one or those YOUR RIGHT HAND POSSESSES. That is more suitable that you may not incline [to injustice].” – Quran 4:3

The verse was revealed as the result of men absorbing orphans wealth – they deceptively, and deliberately married orphans so to steal
their wealth and also not giving the dowry due to them. Hence the verse was revealed that such was forbidden. That they were commanded to marry other women if they cannot fulfill the rights of the orphans, due to them.

I don’t know why the Christians have problems with prophet Mohammad’s marriage, when almost all biblical leaders married more than 11 in the bible. Let’s us take a look at some verses of the Bible..

1. Solomon married 700 wives and 300 concubine

And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.
1 Kings:11:3

A question to the Christians…How was he able to provide for almost 1000 wives including his concubines?

2. Rehoboam married 18 wives and he had 3 concubines.

And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines; and begat twenty and eight sons, and threescore daughters.)
2 Chronicles:11:21

3. Abijah married 14 wives

But Abijah waxed mighty, and married fourteen wives, and begat twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters.
2 Chronicles:13:21

4. The biblical Jesus promised his followers hundred wives in heaven. Who ever forsake his wife will receive hundredfold in heaven.

And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
Matthew:19:29

2. PROPHET MUHAMMAD MARRIED ZAYNAB THE EX-WIFE OF HIS ADOPTED SON

The critics took/got this claim from one of Tabari’s work about Zaynab Bint Jash. Tabari who was an historian took the false story from waqidi, Waqidi is a well known liar and fabricator. He coined such fictions to provide some sort of sanction for the licentiousness of the Abbasid Caliphs (source: Sirat-Un-Nabi, by all am a shibli Nu’mani rendered into English By M. Tayyib Bahkash Budayuni, Kazi publications Lahore, Volume 2, page 128-129)

So the view of those Christians who claimed PROPHET MUHAMMAD MARRIED ZAYAB THE EX-WIFE OF HIS ADOPTED SON is from false source and not a trust worthy source.

Fujislamization and Our Misplaced Priorities By Bashir Lucas Samson Lukman

0

In an article I wrote, titled “A Rejoinder to A Message For The Muslim Bible Warriors”, I cited what is below to portray how we Muslims have misplaced our priorities;

“So, if all comparative lecturers are to be blamed for a revert’s ignorance little or no knowledge of Islam, shall we blame the scholars for the shenanigans we see amongst Muslims today. If he is so much concerned about teaching Islam and no other intention, shall we blame him for or ask what he has done to help;

* The several Imams (may Allah preserve them on khayr) that cannot recite Suratul Fatiha with proper Tajweed?

* The several number of Muslims who go for Jummu’ah on Friday and Church on Sunday. Those who have no problem with praying in Jesus’ name.

* The mothers, grandmothers, sisters that do not use the Hijab but scarfs. Who is he blaming?

* The sons and daughters of many Imams who do not appear to be Muslims even from their looks, club and drink!

* Those who bear Lasisi, Muri, Rasaki and married to more than 4 wives yet in the name of Islam.

* The several ìyá lojas when the Adhan is being called, they do not hasten to pray.

* The Muslims in Ilorin (just saying as this is everywhere) that during Dhur, ‘Asr, Maghrib and ‘Ishaa, you see more Muslims on the road, shops than you see in the mosque.

If comparative lecturers need to be crucified because many reverts are not too good in Islam, can we get a statistic of the number of Muslims from birth against Reverts that know about Islam the less? I fear that soon, a group will arise, build their own Masjid and you can’t pray in the Masjid except you wear a Niqob because it is not a house of those who have flaws but of angels. In their Manhaj, Admonition based on Adab and Hikmah would be missing but just Crucifixion.”

Indeed, we Muslims have so much misplaced our priorities. Yesterday, brother Badmus Awwal Uptown shared the audio of a lecture delivered by one supposed Islamic preacher. Sad and funny, he was doing the tefsir of a song by Saheed Osupa, even going to the extent of cursing those that are against Fuji Music. “Orin yin buru”, He said. To him, Saheed Osupa is an expert on and source of proper Marriage affairs hence bringing references from his music, no thanks to his ‘Arowasi’who even almost sang better than Saheed Osupa.

In the Fuji Music Industry (predominant in the South-West of Nigeria), we have more Muslims than non-Muslims that an average non-Muslim would think that Fuji music is another branch or pillar of Islam no thanks to the “Alhajis” Pasuma, Saheed Osupa, K1 de Ultimate, Abass Obesere and many others. That we can count the numbers of christian Fuji musicians given church titles, if any, makes us question the money-minded, dunya-sick, fraudulent alfas that give these people “Baba Adinni, Agbesinga of … land” etc.

The problem facing Muslims in the South-West is gross. As a Christian, the Islamic scholar I knew was Buhari Omo Musa for never failing to entertain us during Ramadan periods. It is so terrible that it is very difficult to convince someone, many Muslims included, that these songs have no root in Islam as they would tell you that attention should be paid to the message not music not knowing that knowledge and wisdom about life issues are in the Qur’an, how lucky are we that the He who created the Heavens and Earth spoke to us in the Qur’an but No! Many Muslims today get inspiration from different types of Music.

How much more pathetic when we realize that many non-Muslims, even average Musims do not even know who is Shaykh Albanee, Ibn Uthaymeen, Ibn Baaz, ibn Taymiyyah and many others!!! Not to even go too far, go outside and ask Muslims on the street what they know about Dr. Sharafadeen Gbadebo Raji, Prof. Alaro, Sheikh Amubieya etc. Ask 10 Muslims on the street, let us see how many of them know these people but ask them about Saheed Osupa, K1 de ultimate, Ayeloyun, Aminat Ajao etc.

One would think that these should be the priority of many self-acclaimed salafis without salafs who are so eager to label you, call you names when you yourself subscribe to the manhaj but not along with their madness that has no root in neither associated with the salafi Manhaj. One’s expectation would be that they will boast of how many Iya lojas, Musicians, non-Muslims they have talked to and now practicing pristine Islam but no! they only boast of how they have destroyed MSSN, made tekfeer of notable scholars in Islam and working towards destroying many others,

This is a CONDEMNATION of many amongst us that are overly exuberant as well as an admontion. It is really good that we call everyone to pristine Islam but our intentions should be checked…

 • Have we condemned these people who know little or about Islam to hell hence focusing on those close to wanting to practice Islam?
 • Are we just out to destroy whoever decides not to take our name and ideology for himself?
 • Are we really striving for Allah’s Cause?

Oh Muslims! Set your priorities right!
