AbdulHakeem AbdulLateef, otherwise known as “Honourable Iyepe”, is a revered Islamic scholar who is also the Honourable Commissioner for Home Affairs of Lagos State. His series of lectures has influenced many Muslims and non-Muslims positively. He has successfully led thousands of Lagos pilgrims to Hajj in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, commendable efforts which have earned the State the Best Performing Hajj Operator award a number of times.

The second AbdulHakeem, otherwise known as “The Dream”, is the American NBA’s most famous Muslim player, who became a committed Muslim during his professional career spanning 17 seasons in the American basketball league.

The taller in the picture (about 7 feet), the Nigerian-born basketball Hall of Famer has helped many Muslims and non-Muslims alike through his Islamic Daw’ah Centre in Houston, USA. In April 2016, he opened his Library of Islamic Knowledge, which reportedly gulped about $2.5 million dollars, housed within the Centre.

These two AbdulHakeems have made me realize that whatever profession or occupation you find yourself, be it politics, sports or even journalism, you should do your best for Islam and Muslims.

“O you who believe! if you help (the cause of) Allah, He will help you and make firm your feet.” – Q. 47: 7
