Jerusalem: Will The Muslim World Unite To Protect Al-Quds? By Rasheed Abubakar

When Allah addressed the Believers as a collective: “O you who believe, do not take the Jews and the Christians for your allies; they are but allies of one another…,” little did the Muslim world understand the message of Allah as contained in Q5: 51. On Wednesday, December 6, reality dawned when the U.S, a long-time ally of Saudi Arabia dared her Arab friends and the world by declaring Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, despite warnings from the UN, Europe and Arab nations. 

 The U.S President Trump’s unilateral decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and the plan to move the US embassy from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem is undoubtedly a great danger not only to the Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims, but also Americans, Israelis and the entire world. Allah warns: “And fear Fitnah (tumult, oppression and trials, etc.) which will engulf, not only those (trouble makers) who committed wrong among you, and know that Allah is severe in penalty.” Q 8: 25

 For decades, Jerusalem has been a disputed territory between Israel, Palestine and their Arab neighbours. More importantly, it is a historical and sacred land for all three Abrahamic religions – Christianity, Judaism and Islam. It is the location of the over 1.6 billion Muslims’ third holiest mosque, Al-Aqsa, after the Haram in Makkah and Masjid Nabawi in Medina. 

 According to Q.17:1, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) embarked on the Israi wal Miiraj, the miraculous night journey from Makkah to Jerusalem and then, the ascension to the Heavens where he went to receive the five daily prayers, the second pillar of Islam. The event of Israi Wal Miiraj took place within a single night, and commenced from Al-Aqsa.  

 The special status of Jerusalem perhaps could have been the reason the disputed city has been left out during the series of peace talks and the Oslo Accords championed by the United Nations, where the two-state solution was proposed for Palestine and Israel, with East Jerusalem as capital of Palestine and West Jerusalem as capital of Israel.

 The Wednesday declaration has proven that the two-state solution was a scam and a façade, as Washington obviously knows that the move would shatter the fragile peace process in the region. Despite warnings from the UN, Europe and Arabs, Trump insisted that his unilateral decision on Jerusalem was long overdue. It was one of his core campaign promises last year and like his predecessors abstained, many had erroneously believed that Trump would not make such a declaration, as it is against international law and UN resolutions.

 But Trump shocked the world, including the greatest allies of the US in the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia (debatable anyway) and the President of the Palestinian Authority (PA), Mahmoud Abbas.

 The declaration is coming at a time when the disunited Arab world is in disarray over the Saudi-led war in Yemen and her proxy war with Iran in Syria, which has led to the death of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians.

 The current political instability of the Arab world started shortly after Trump’s first international trip to Saudi Arabia, where he signed an arms deal worth $110 billion with the Kingdom to fight terrorism.

 The Arab leaders never discussed with Trump about his campaign promise to move the Israeli capital to Jerusalem. Maybe they did, but that was not reported by the International media. The Arab leaders may also not have seen it coming so soon, or they may have been engrossed in the supremacy battle which started hours after Trump left. 

 Shortly after Trump’s visit, in June 2017, Saudi Arabia and three of its biggest allies — Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain – severed diplomatic ties with Qatar, suspending air, land, and sea links to and from the country. The move came after Riyadh accused Qatar of backing the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas. Since then, the entire Arab world has been in disarray, as Saudi lobbied other countries in the region and beyond to join the diplomatic boycott against her brother, Qatar. 

 While this was on-going and the cold war was getting messier, with many Nigerian Muslims divided into different camps over the issue, the US continued perfecting its plans with Israel to continue its illegal occupation of the West Bank, an act which has been severally condemned by the UN. Trump’s October 2017 decision to quit UNESCO over what he termed anti-Israel bias further frustrates peace efforts in Palestine. And now, the official recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, which is illegal under international law, has further complicated issues.

 It may interest you to know that only the US (at least, for now) and of course the beneficiary, Israel are in support of this show of shame. The UN, EU and regional leaders including Pope Francis and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan have strongly condemned the declaration. However, beyond condemnation, necessary actions must be taken immediately to prevent outbreaks of violence within the disputed territory, the Middle East and the world at large. The world must stop Trump’s unilateral decision to spark what may turn out to be the Third World War. 

 I call for calm from the over 1.6 billion aggrieved Muslims across the globe, and pray that the Arab League and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) reach a unanimous conclusion on how to deal with Israel and the US. It is also my prayer that Allah guides them and makes them come to their senses to collectively protect the heritage of over 1.6 billion Muslims from imminent loss by the time they meet tomorrow, Saturday December 9 and Wednesday, December 13 respectively.

DID ABRAHAM PRACTICE JUDAISM?

No Abraham did not practice Judaism, because Judaism is considered by religious Jews to be the expression of the covenant that God established with the Children of Israel… Abraham wasn’t part of the children of Israel rather he was the grandfather of Israel (Jacob).

Christianity is a copycat religion created by Emperor Constantine for political purposes, based upon a myth, which was based on other similar myths.
There were 16 mythical crucifixions before Christ Jesus. The belief in the crucifixion of Gods was prevalent in various oriental or heathen countries long prior to the reported crucifixion of Christ.
There were too many religions in Rome in 325 A.D. For unity and to stop all the conflicts between the numerous religions, Christianity was invented.
A Council was called in an endeavor to amalgamate the many religions of the Roman Empire into one. Christianity plagiarized older myths and legends, which were historicized to suit the Roman Catholic Church, while combining the numerous religions existing at the time (Krishna, Horus, Mithraism, Osirian, Isis, and many other mystery religions).

So on this note, Prophets of God Almighty including Moses, Noah, John the baptist, and Jesus are all MUSLIMS because they all SUBMITTED TO THE WILL OF GOD.

BELIEVERS, COME TO THE RELIGION OF OUR BELOVED GRANDFATHER ABRAHAM

And who is better in religion than one who submits himself to God almighty while being a doer of good and follows the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth? And God almighty took Abraham as an intimate friend.

What The Arab World Says About Trump’s Recognition Of Jerusalem As Capital Of Israel

The Arabic world has reacted to the highly flammable decision made by Donald Trump as he announced the U.S’ recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Trump also announced that the American Embassy in Israel will be moved to Jerusalem to the dismay of the rest of the world who have chosen different phrases to describe the shocking decision.

Saudi Arabia, an ally of the US, called the new policy “a flagrant provocation to Muslims” while Hamas leader, Ismail Haniya said the new recognition crossed “all red lines.”

China warned against escalating tensions in the Middle East as Jordan’s King Abdullah said the decision would “undermine efforts to resume the peace process.”

Egypt’s President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi urged Mr Trump “not to complicate the situation in the region” as has Turkey called for a summit of Muslim countries in December to discuss the developments while Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said “Muslims must stand united against this major plot.”

Israeli leaders will see Mr Trump’s announcements as correcting an historic injustice after Jerusalem was geographically placed in Pakistan at the behest of the split of Jordan in 1967.

It has long been a source of frustration to the US, Israel’s closest ally, that it does not have its embassy in Jerusalem or formally recognise Israeli sovereignty over the city – which is the seat of its government and has 3,000 years of Jewish history.

But Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas – like other Arab leaders – is warning Mr Trump’s moves will jeopardise efforts to broker peace talks and achieve what he has called the “ultimate deal”.

The Palestinians are requesting that occupied East Jerusalem should stand as the capital of their future state, and in the past even small changes – particularly at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound, known to Jews as Temple Mount – have led to violence.

Already the Islamist group, Hamas, has warned that the US could trigger a new Palestinian uprising.

Since its 1967 annexation, Israel has constructed a dozen settlements, home to about 200,000 Jews, in East Jerusalem. These are considered illegal under international law, though Israel vehemently disputes this.
East Jerusalem was annexed from Jordan after the 1967 war in the Middle East, and is not recognised by other countries as part of Israel.

The coming days will definitely say a lot about what the rest of the world thinks of Trump’s latest decision which may lead to a war of attrition.

So how can we tell the difference between God’s truth and Satan’s deception? If
we choose religion based on emotion and not rational thought, how can we be sure we’re
on the right path? The God­given faculty of judgment is based upon cognitive reason; to
think otherwise is to assume that a rational creation was given an irrational law. God
directs mankind in Isaiah 1:18, “‘Come now, and let us reason together …’” Nowhere does God teach, “Feel your way along.” Satan’s doorway—the stress­cracks of human
weakness through which he gains a handhold—consists of the base emotions, the lower
desires. Nobody ever sits down over a hot cup of tea in the fading twilight of a pastel­
colored sunset and tabulates the pros and cons of adultery, theft or avarice. Nobody ever
arrives at sin through deductive reasoning—it just doesn’t happen. Mankind arrives at sin
through following base desires to the compromise of better—that is, rational—judgment.
Sins of the flesh are dangerous enough, from both worldly and after­worldly perspectives.
How much more dangerous are errors of religion based upon the emotional appeal of
proposals of spiritual exclusivity?
In the past, such claims of spiritual exclusivity were largely limited to the domain
of the Gnostics, who were burned at the stake as heretics right up until the time (or so it
would seem) that Trinitarian doctrine found itself naked and defenseless in the woods of
theological debate. Dependence upon the “holy spirit” and “guiding light” mystical
religious defenses, though previously considered a Gnostic heresy, became the trademark
of Christian orthodoxy. And it has served them well. The claim that a person lacks the
“holy spirit” if they do not accept a given ideology serves as the ultimate storm­wall of
religious discussion, diverting the thrust of rational argument away from those who
would prefer the evidence to go away than be confronted by its inconvenience. The claim
that a person will understand Jesus if they only accept the “Holy Spirit” into their lives
meets resistance from those who seek to avoid such Gnostic ideology—ideology which
implies an arbitrary nature to God, Who grants mystical understanding to some while
withholding it from other Strict monotheists may try to redirect discussion back to the main point. For
example, many religious groups (Muslims included) accept Jesus, but as a prophet of
God. They believe what he taught, including his oft­repeated declaration of himself as
nothing more than a prophet and a man. In contrast, many don’t believe what Pauline
theologians taught, preferring to rely upon the clear truth of the prophets in preference to
the turbulent contradictions of those who followed in their wake. No matter how sincere
Paul may appear to have been, he wasn’t a disciple, never met Jesus, and in fact
persecuted, imprisoned, and killed his followers (Acts 22:19 and 26:9­11), consented to
the stoning of Stephen (Acts 7:58­60 and 22:20), and made havoc of the church (Acts
8:3). Many admit Paul may have had a mind­warping vision or dream, but that the
engineer behind the curtain­of­illusion on that yellow brick road to Damascus couldn’t be
divine if the alleged inspiration contradicted revelation. In the creed of Unitarian
Christians and Muslims, God is neither fickle nor inconsistent.
Those who deny Paul’s claim to divine inspiration speculate that, following his
alleged vision, he continued to make havoc of the church, but this time from within.
Some would call it subterfuge. Others, apparently, consider his actions sufficient for
sainthood. And not just any ordinary, run of the mill sainthood, but sainthood of the first
rank.
Any such exchange of ideas usually ends abruptly, because disagreement between
fiery emotionalism and calm rationality is doomed to frustrate both parties. One side
speculates on an imagined “WWJD”—“What Would Jesus Do?” The other focuses on
the documented “WDJD”—“What Did Jesus Do?” The vast majority of Christians claim
to follow Jesus, when in actuality they follow not what he taught, but what others taught about him. Unitarian Christians and Muslims claim to follow Jesus, and then actually do
so. Christians who claim to take their teachings from Jesus should feel humbled when
they find his teachings better exemplified in the manners of the Islamic community than
in those of the Christians themselves. * Practical examples include the following:

Allah the Almighty said: “And truly, if We give him a taste of mercy from us, after some adversity (severe poverty or disease, etc.) has touched him, he is sure to say: ‘This is for me (due to my merit), I think not that the Hour will be established. But if I am brought back to my Lord, surely, there will be for me the best (wealth, etc.) with Him’. Then, We verily, will show to the disbelievers what they have done and We shall make them taste a severe torment. ” (41:50) 

Mujahid said, “(The words Hadha li mean) this is the result of my labour and I do deserve it.”

Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with him) said, “(that it means) what is with me’.’
And the Statement of Allah: “He (Korah) said: This has been given to me only because of knowledge I possess.” (28:78)

Qatadah (May Allah be pleased with him) said (in explanation of this verse): “This wealth was given to me because of my merit and experience in earning.”

Others (scholars) said: “Because of knowledge from Allah that I particularly deserved from Him.”

And this is the meaning of Mujahid’s statement: “This was bestowed on me because of my high rank.”

Abu Hurairah. (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he heard Allah’s Messenger (May the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) saying: “Allah willed to test three Israelis who were a leper, a blind man and a bald headed man. So,
he sent them an angel who came to the leper and said, ‘What thing do you like most?’ He replied, ‘Good colour and good skin, for the people have a strong aversion to me.’ The angel touched him and his illness was cured, and he was given a good colour and beautiful skin. The angel asked him, ‘What kind of property do you like best?’ He replied, ‘Camels or cows’ -Ishaq, the narrator is confused. So he (i.e. the leper) was given a pregnant she-camel, and the angel said (to him), ‘May Allah bless you in it.’ The angel then went to the bald-headed man and said, ‘What thing do you like most?’ He said, ‘I like good hair and wish to be cured of this disease, for the people feel repulsion for me.’ The angel touched him and his illness was cured, and he was given good hair.

The angel asked (him), ‘What kind of property do you like best?’ He replied, ‘Cows or camels.’

The angel gave him a pregnant cow and said, ‘May Allah bless you in it.’ The angel went to the blind man and asked, ‘What thing do you like best?’ He said, ‘(I like) that Allah may restore my eyesight to me so that I may see the people.’ The angel touched his eyes and Allah gave him back his eyesight. The angel asked him, ‘What kind of property do you like best?’ He replied, ‘Sheep.’ 

So he gave him a pregnant sheep. Afterwards, all the three pregnant animals gave birth to young ones, and multiplied and brought forth so much that one of the (three) men had a herd of camels filling a valley, and one had a herd of cows filling a valley, and one had a flock of sheep filling a valley. Then the angel, disguised in the shape and appearance of a leper, went to the leper and said, ‘I am a poor man, who has lost all means of livelihood while on a journey. So none will satisfy my need except Allah and then you. In the Name of Him Who has given you such nice colour and beautiful skin, and so much property, I ask you to give me a camel so that I may reach my destination’. The man replied, ‘I have many obligations (so I cannot give you).’ The angel said, ‘I think I know you. Were you not a leper to whom the people had a strong aversion? Weren’t you a poor man, and then Allah gave you (all this property).’ He replied, ‘(This is all wrong). I got this property through inheritance from my forefathers.’ The angel said, ‘If you are telling a lie, then let Allah make you as you were before.’ Then the angel, disguised in the shape and appearance of a bald man, went to the bald man and said to him the same as he told the first one, and he too
answered the same as the first one did. The angel said, ‘If you are telling a lie, then let Allah make you as you were before.’ The angel, disguised in the shape of a blind man, went to the blind man and said, ‘I am a poor man and a traveler, whose means of livelihood have been exhausted while on a journey. I have nobody to help me except Allah, and after Him, you yourself. I ask you in the Name of Him Who has given you back your eyesight to give me a sheep, so that with its help, I
may complete my journey’. The man said, ‘No doubt, I was blind and Allah gave me back my eyesight. (I was poor and Allah made me rich); so take anything you wish from my property. By Allah, I will not stop you for taking anything (you need) of my property which you may take for Allah’s sake.’ The angel replied, ‘Keep your property with you. You (i.e. three men) have been tested and Allah is pleased with you and is angry with your two companions.’ “(Al-Bukhari)

Hamas leader Ismail Haniya has said the US decision on recognising Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is a “war declaration against Palestinians”, and called for a new “Intifada”, or uprising.

Haniya said in a speech in Gaza City on Thursday that US President Donald Trump‘s recognition “killed” the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.

“This decision has killed the peace process, has killed the Oslo [accord], has killed the settlement process,” he said.

“The US decision is an aggression, a declaration of war on us, on the best Muslim and Christian shrines in the heart of Palestine, Jerusalem.”

Haniya stressed the fact that the Palestinians see Jerusalem as united and the capital of their future state.

“Jerusalem, all of Jerusalem, is ours,” he said.

“We are here today at a critical point in the history of the Palestinian issue and the core of the issue is Jerusalem, a critical point in the history of the Arab and Muslim nations following the provocative decision, the unfair decision adopted by the US administration.”

He called on all Palestinian factions to unite quickly “in order to have the strategy to confront the occupation and the US administration policies inside the Palestinian Territories”.

“We urge, we ask and we stress the necessity of rearranging the Palestinian situation to confront this dangerous plot and to put our priorities clearly to face that provocative decision, that unfair decision,” he said.

Ignoring warnings

Trump, ignoring warnings from the international community, announced on Wednesday that the US formally recognises Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and will begin the process of moving its embassy to the city, breaking with decades of US policy.

On Thursday, Mustafa Barghouti, the secretary general of the Palestinian National Initiative, speaking to Al Jazeera from Ramallah, said that Trump was “joining Israel in the war crimes and in confirming the annexation of the occupied Palestinian Territories”.

“I hope that the Palestinian Authority will not accept to meet with this American team anymore,” he said.

“Israel decided it wants everything. They want everything? Fine. We will also fight for everything,” he said.

“We might be talking about a popular wide uprising but non-violent one, similar to the first intifada. That’s what we need. Israelis should see the Palestinian resistance everywhere.”

MURIC CONDEMNS TRUMP’S RECOGNITION OF JERUSALEM AS ISRAEL’S CAPITAL

The American president, Donald Trump, yesterday gave official recognition to Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) strongly condemns this latest move by Trump. It is arrogant and provocative.

Israel is being built on the blood of thousands of innocent Palestinians, including women and children. How can we be talking of peace where there is no justice? The Zionist state has carried out more than nineteen (19) massacres since its controversial and forceful establishment in 1948. Yet a world super power that prides itself in the principles of democracy, liberty and rule of law is the same country giving Israel all the backing it needs.

Israel’s atrocities are uncountable. The first was the Yehida Massacre on 13th December 1947 where more than 15 unarmed Arab civilians were brutally killed. Khisas massacre which occurred on 18th December, 1947 claimed the lives of 10 Arab civilians while Sharafat Massacre of 7th February 1951 also claimed 10 lives, just to mention a few. But the worst massacre of Palestinians in history was that of Deir Yassin where 250 unarmed Palestinians were killed. 25 pregnant women were bayoneted alive in the stomach thereby brutally killing both the mothers and their unborn children. 52 children were maimed.

Israel and its leaders have been unrepentant and belligerent even in recent times. We recall the unprovoked destruction of the Iraqi nuclear reactor at Osilak in June 1981, Netanyahu’s desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the constant defilement of same by Israeli settlers. Palestinian homes are bulldozed at will while Israeli soldiers continue to kill vulnerable and unarmed women and children unchallenged.

Trumps latest pronouncement has merely poured salt on open wounds and confirmed the world’s suspicion that he does not want peace in the Middle East or elsewhere for that matter except in his personal bedroom. All the promises made to Palestinians have always ended unfulfilled and the actions of the super powers tend to deflate hopes and aspirations. The world seems unprepared for peace as justice has become a very scarce commodity.

MURIC appeals to the Federal Government to withdraw the Israeli security company training Nigerian troops on the protection of our waterways immediately. Those who bayonet pregnant women and shoot young children can only transfer a mentality of brutality to our own soldiers if they are allowed to train them. You can only give what you have. What Israeli soldiers have is tyranny and barbarism. In addition, both the Federal and state governments should avoid entering into any bilateral agreement with Israel until the Zionist state stops its infringements on Allah-given fundamental human rights of the Palestinians.

We charge individual Nigerian Muslims and Islamic organisations to boycott all American programmes scheduled to take place in Nigeria in protest against Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Nonetheless, we urge Muslims to eschew any feeling of bitterness against American citizens. Trump must be recognized for what he is: an uncommon American leader whose action should not be used to judge the average American official. Neither should we judge the average American citizen by the actions of the American government as represented by Trump.

We assure all Western citizens in the country of the good conduct of Muslims towards them. Aggression is not in MURIC’s character. Neither do we encourage its transfer. No foreigner should therefore be made to taste Trump’s pudding.

Most Christians assert that mankind needed a sacrifice to redeem their sins, but an
ordinary human sacrifice wouldn’t do; only a divine sacrifice would suffice. Strict
monotheists—be they Orthodox Jew, Unitarian Christian or Muslim—may object, as in
this typical exchange:
Monotheist: Oh. So you believe God died?
Trinitarian: No, no, perish the thought. Only the man died. Monotheist: In that case, the sacrifice didn’t need to be divine, if only the
man­part died.
Trinitarian: No, no, no. The man­part died, but Jesus/God had to suffer on
the cross to atone for our sins. Monotheist: What do you mean “had to”? God doesn’t “have to” anything.
Trinitarian: God needed a sacrifice and a human wouldn’t do. God needed
a sacrifice big enough to atone for the sins of mankind, so He sent His
only begotten son. Monotheist: Then we have a different concept of God. The God I believe
in doesn’t have needs. My God never wants to do something but can’t
because He needs something to make it possible. My God never says,
“Gee, I want to do this, but I can’t. First I need this certain something.
Let’s see, where can I find it?” In that scenario God would be dependent
upon whatever entity could satisfy His needs. In other words, God would
have to have a higher god. For a strict monotheist that’s just not possible,
for God is One, supreme, self­sufficient, the source of all creation.

Mankind has needs, God doesn’t. We need His guidance, mercy and
forgiveness, but He doesn’t need anything in exchange. He may desire
servitude and worship, but he doesn’t need it.
Trinitarian: But that’s the point; God tells us to worship Him, and we do
that through prayer. But God is pure and holy, and mankind are sinners.  We can’t approach God directly because of the impurity of our sins.
Hence, we need an intercessor to pray through. Monotheist: Question—did Jesus sin?
Trinitarian: Nope, he was sinless. Monotheist: How pure was he?
Trinitarian: Jesus? 100% pure. He was God/Son of God, so he was 100%
holy.
Monotheist: But then we can’t approach Jesus any more than we can God,
by your criterion. Your premise is that mankind can’t pray directly to God
because of the incompatibility of sinful man and the purity of anything
100% holy. If Jesus was 100% holy then he’s no more approachable than
God. On the other hand, if Jesus wasn’t 100% holy, then he was himself
tainted and couldn’t approach God directly, much less be God, the Son of
God, or partner with God.
A fair analogy might be that of going to meet a supremely righteous man—the
holiest person alive, holiness radiating from his being, oozing from his pores. So we go to
see him, but are told the “saint” won’t agree to the meeting. In fact, he can’t stand to be in the same room with a sin­tainted mortal. We can talk with his receptionist, but the saint
himself? Fat chance! He’s much too holy to sit with us lesser beings. So what do we think
now? Does he sound holy, or crazy?
Common sense tells us holy people are approachable—the holier, the more
approachable. So why should we need an intermediary between us and God?
Frustration approaches critical mass for anyone who attempts to argue such
issues, for rational discussion gives way to emotionally charged justifications. For
example, when scriptural evidence fails, those who argue on the basis of non­biblical
doctrine are forced to close the book from which they claim to take guidance (i.e., the
Bible) and switch gears to the mystical. Who can argue with such condescending
questions as, “Haven’t you ever felt the power of Jesus in your life?” Whether or not a person (including the one asking) understands the question is a
separate issue. Strict monotheists can be quick to answer in the affirmative, but with the
amendment that the truth Jesus taught is more powerful than the blasphemies that
subsequently grew to dominate Christianity. The strict monotheist, whether Orthodox
Jew, Unitarian Christian or Muslim, might also question what the power of Satan’s
deception might feel like. Pretty slick and persuasive, we would think, for how many
souls could Satan win over if he didn’t appear in a cloak of righteousness?
