Christians believe that they are the followers of Jesus Christ. They claim to love and revere him in that they call him their Lord and Personal Saviour. In this article, we are not looking at how Paul might have been the one who created Christianity of today or the fact that the Christians got their name pagans, we are taking a look at an event in the Bible that proves Jesus knew nothing about Christianity.

We read in the book of Luke 19:45-48 an account of Jesus’ action when he saw people buying and selling in the temple. We read,

“Then Jesus entered the temple courts and began to drive out those who were selling there. He declared to them, “It is written: ‘My house will be a house of prayer.’f But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.”

This event is well-known amongst Christians and the Evangelists (from their own perspective) derive a lesson from the event, which is to be mindful of God’s house. However, if we are to look at this from a very theological angle, we can safely conclude that Christianity as a religion is alien to Jesus.

Today, Christians go to the Church, a place Jesus never went to. Jesus had gone to the temple, preached in the Synagogue but as for a Church, Jesus never stepped his feet. Jesus called the temple his house, the gospel of John reported it as his Father’s house but Christians want to convince us that Jesus brought a new religion.

It is also worthy of note that those worshipping in that Temple do not clap, dance, roll, twerk, twist, whine and jump in the name of worshipping God. If we carefully study the life of Jesus, we will come to the conclusion that Jesus Christ was not a Christian and did not preach Christianity.
