A Christian brother said to me that Jesus is GOD, and that he was God on earth. He made references to the book of John 1:1 which reads, “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God”. And from the book of Colossians 1:16-17 “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” Therefore they pray to Jesus and worship him as their Lord and personal saviour. They also pray in his name.

From the above verses quoted, this means to me that Jesus is God, and God is Jesus (while he was on earth). Okay, going by this claim, let us put it to the test and see its authenticity. Therefore, we will replace the word(s) “Jesus”/”Son of man” with the word “God” and also the pronoun “he” (which refers to Jesus) to “God” in the bible verses where they occur to see what sense it makes from the following verses below.

We begin:

  1. God said, “I am thirsty.” [John 19:28] e. God gets thirsty…
  2. “The next day as they were leaving Bethany, God was hungry.” [Mark 11:12] e. God gets hungry…
  3. God” [John 11:35] i.e. God can cry…
  4. “Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake with waves breaking into the boat. But God was sleeping…” [Matthew 8:24] e. God sleeps…
  5. God sat down by the well because he was tired from traveling. The time was about six o’clock in the evening.” [John 4:6] e. God gets tired or weary…
  6. “When God therefore had received the vinegar, God said, It is finished: and God bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.” [John 19:30] e. God died…
  7. “We believe that God died and was raised to life again” [1 Thessalonians 4:14] e. God could die…
  8. “But God was growing in his stature and in his wisdom and in favour with God and the children of men.” [Luke 2:52] e. God was a child then God grew up…
  9. “Then saith God unto them, my soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.” [Matthew 26:38] e. God can be sorrowful and fear death…
  10. “And God went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.” [Matthew 26:39] e. GOD has a Father whom he fell on his face to worship….
  11. “And about the ninth hour God cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” [Matthew 27:46] e. God has a God, and his God forsook him, and God cried…
  12. “They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. God saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham. But now ye seek to kill me (God), a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. [John 8:39-40] e. God declared himself a man at the fear of death…
  13. “The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Servant, God; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.” [Acts 3:13; NIV,ASV,ESV,NASB etc. versions] e. God is the servant of the God of Abraham…
  14. GOD came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.” [Matthew 11:19] e. God was eating and drinking (probably wine)…
  15. “But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither God (himself), but the Father.” [Mark 13:21] e. God was void or short of knowledge except the Father of God…

These are only a few out of the many other verses…

From the above 15 verses we can see that: God sleeps, eat, drink wine, get tired; God is a servant, God prays, God has a Father etc… highly Exalted is our Allah over what they ascribe and associate with HIM.

What sought of a God is this? Is this the kind of God you will feel so proud and shameless to speak about? A God who is not different from me? Certainly, this cannot be the God of the heavens and the earth. This cannot be the God who created mankind and all things that exist. The test to this “God-Man” has failed, and the authenticity of such God is null and void. Therefore, Jesus is NOT GOD and CANNOT be GOD! Jesus (PBUH) was a prophet, servant and Messenger of Allah – the Messiah which is being interpreted Christ in Greek. Jesus (PBUH) has never in anywhere in the bible mention that he was/is GOD!

My question is, “who really is the GOD Jesus was always praying to and worshiping, and whom he referred to as Father? Why can’t the Christ-Like people worship and pray to that same GOD Jesus was praying to in the same manner with which he (Jesus – PBUH) prayed and worship? This, also, should be the question of a reasonable person or a Christ-Like fellow.

Brothers and sisters, GOD is not a MAN. And Man can never be GOD. Scriptures says, “God is not a man that HE should lie; neither the son of man that HE should repent: hath HE said, and shall HE not do it?  Or hath HE spoken, and shall he not make it good?” [Number 23:19]. And any man born of a woman can never be your God or your Lord or your Saviour. And anyone born of a woman CANNOT BE CLEAN FOR a GOD – “What is man, that he should be clean?  And he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?” [Job 15:14]. Also, Jesus (PBUH) said, according to the Gospel of Thomas Chapter 15, “When you find the One who was not born of a woman, fall on your face and worship Him, for that is your Father”. (The Gospel of Thomas was one of the mystery scriptures found around 60AD somewhere in Egypt; but unfortunately, the Gospel of Thomas is not in the present day bible).

When I was a Christians, I was made to believe that Jesus (PBUH) was my Lord, Saviour, Redeemer, God; that he is the King of kings and Lord of lords, that he created all things and that he gave me life. That Jesus alone can forgive my sins etc. Brothers and sister, after a thorough study of the scriptures, I came to realise that what I was taught and made to believe about Jesus (PBUH) were all WRONG and a total FALLACY. There was or is never a single verse in the bible where Jesus (PBUH) said any of those attributes to himself. Those attributes belong only to ALLAH (GOD), and Jesus knew this. Jesus (PBUH) said, according to Matthew 5:17-18, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled”. Jesus (PBUH) believed in the laws and in the Prophets that came before him. And he knew they were sent from/by the same ALLAH (GOD) who sent him. And Prophet Isaiah (PBUH) talked about who GOD is as he was inspired by the Spirit of GOD to say, which Jesus (PBUH) also believed and honoured. Below are my proof and fact.

  • Allah alone is Your GOD.
“Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. & “Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses.  Is there a God beside me?  yea, there is no God; I know not any”. [Isaiah 45:22 & 44:8]
  • Allah alone is your Saviou
“For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee”. & “I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour”. [Isaiah 43:3,11]
  • Allah alone is your Redeemer.
“Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself…” [Isaiah 44:24]
  • Allah alone is your King! The King of all kings.
“I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.” [Isaiah 43:15]
  • Allah alone forgives your sins, and no one else can forgive sins.
I, even I, am HE that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” [Isaiah 43:25]. “And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” [& Mrk. 11:25]. “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you…” [Mtt. 6:14].
  • Allah alone gives you life. He is the true author of life.
“Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; HE that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein…” [Isaiah 42:5]
  • Allah alone is your Creator. HE created all things that are created all by himself with NO helper or assistance. All things were made by HIM Alone!
“Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and HE that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by MYSELF; [Isaiah 44:24]
  • Allah is One. HE is not 3, and there is no Trinity with Allah.
“And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord” [Mark. 12:29]. “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD” [Deuteronomy 6:4]. “And your Ilah (God) is One Ilah (God – Allah), La ilaha illa Huwa (there is none who has the right to be worshipped but HE), the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. [Qur’an 2:163].
  • Allah CANNOT begot a child or son. That is an insult to your Creator, reducing Him to a lower creation of sexual activities.
Say (O Muhammad): “He is Allah, (the) One. Allah-us-Samad (The Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, He neither eats nor drinks). He begets not, nor was He begotten; And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him [Qur’an 112]

Highly exalted is HE (ALLAH) above what is ascribed unto HIM.

Only the GOD of all creations is your all-in-all. And HE is Allah (in the Arabic language). Allah means “HE alone who is worthy of Worship”. And there is no deity or man worthy of worship but Allah. And there is no power or might but by Allah. Until you know and study about who GOD is, you will not know how to worship HIM.

Allah the One – the One true GOD, the Mighty and Wise; HE who is your Creator – the Creator of the heavens and the earth is ever Mercy, All-Loving, All-Forgiving. He demands your worship and your obedience. HE calls for your total submission to HIM as your Creator.

With these knowledge, it is inordinate to attribute all these to a fellow man like you and I. Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him) was a mighty Prophet and Messenger of Allah. He (Jesus – PBUH) brought this truth in his every teaching. Jesus (PBUH), a beloved prophet of Allah is loved and respected by all Muslims. Jesus and Muhammad were from the same source (Allah) with the same message (peace be unto them).

According to the Gospel of John 14:15, Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commandments”. We love Jesus because we keep his commandments. If you truly love Jesus then you will not worship him but rather you will worship whom he worshiped. Jesus worshiped Allah. He prayed to Allah. He asked Allah for help. And he commanded you and me to do same. Not the other way round.

The Qur’an is the pure and undiluted word of Allah. Allah Himself sent the Qur’an to us through his angel, Gabriel, to Muhammad (PBGBUH) for guidance. “Verily We: It is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur’an) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption) [Qur’an 15:9]. Read the Qur’an, a revelation from your LORD.

Islam is the only religion Allah has chosen for Himself. [Qur’an 5:3]. This is because the word “Islam” means “Total submission to the will of Allah”. And this is what Allah wants from His creatures. In return, as a reward, you get a perfected peace. Those who submit totally to this Will of Allah are called “Muslims” as in the Arabic meaning or in Arabic language. Therefore, Jesus (PBUH) was a Muslim because he submitted to the will of ALLAH and not doing his own will but the will of ALLAH who sent him. He said this in the Gospel of John 5:30-31, “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.” Just like every other prophets of Allah were who were before him. Muhammad also was a Muslim. Peace be on them all.

Brothers and sisters, please I beg you, hellfire is not what anyone should experience. There is a serious and perpetual torment in hellfire for disbelievers and those deceived by Satan. Hellfire is more severe than what any pastor might have told you. The devil needs companions: so he has painted everything evil to look good and everything good to look evil. This is a trap. He knows this but you don’t know this. “He [Iblis (Satan)] said: “O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all “Except Your chosen, (guided) slaves among them.” [Qur’an 15:49-50].

Paradise, the same one Jesus talked about, is where Allah as created and prepared for the Muslims – those who submitted only to the will of Allah in total worship to HIM alone, attributing none else to HIM as partner.  “Truly! The Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons) will be amidst Gardens and water-springs (Paradise). “(It will be said to them): “Enter therein (Paradise), in peace and security”. “And We shall remove from their breasts any sense of injury (that they may have), (So they will be like) brothers facing each other on thrones. “No sense of fatigue shall touch them, nor shall they (ever) be asked to leave it.”  Declare, (O Muhammad ), unto My slaves, that truly, I am the Oft-Forgiving, the Most-Merciful.

Reconsider your ways and what you believe. Is it the right way or believe? Is it in conformity with the teachings of Jesus Christ himself (PBUH)? Is it in line with the perfect will of Allah? If not, make a U-turn to your LORD. Be like the prodigal son of Jesus’ parable. You don’t want to be left out in Paradise, and you don’t want to taste of hellfire.

Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful. He does not require any form of sacrifice, blood or whatsoever to forgive your sins. The only sacrifice Allah desires of you is your piety to HIM and a total submission to HIS will and ordinances which HE has made for you. And a sacrifice of Righteousness.  See Psalm 51:16-17 which says, “For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” Allah also said,If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”. [2Chronicles 7:14]. All that is required of you is humility, piety and total submission to the perfect Will of your LORD (ALLAH), and desist from saying “GOD is three! And that GOD has a begotten Son!” this is like the sin against the Holy Ghost Jesus talked about which is cannot be forgiven at death.

Open your mind to research. Devote time to read about Islam from the right source. Also read about the true origin of Islam and that of your religion. Then make your sincere decision. Do not let people decide for you. Do not let anyone overwhelm your right to decision. When we all return to our Creator, nobody will speak for anybody. It will be just you and your GOD. And remember, hellfire is real, and the punishment is very severe. It starts from the grave.

Allah will guide the sincerely hearted. Allah will guide whom HE will guide.

May the peace of Allah be with you all.
