Sheikh Ibrahim Iyiorji was shot to death at his residence in Isu, Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State by unknown gunmen suspected to be members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB).
The attack is the most recent of attacks on the Muslim minority in the South-Eastern region of Nigeria. The region is infamous for its hostility towards its small Muslim community.
