Report reaching ALEDEH has it that five bombs went off within the security office and the University of Maiduguri environment on Sunday night. ALEDEH gathered from a reliable source that the bombs exploded between 10:30 and 11:30pm. When ALEDEH contacted the Nigerian Army Spokesman, Brig Gen Sani Kukasheka Usman at exactly 11:37 he however denied the report, adding that the “firing was from the own forces”. According to him, “Please there is no cause for alarm, the firing is from own forces”, Brig Gen Usman told ALEDEH. Minutes later, the Army Spokesman however went on to say that there were reported bomb explosions around UNIMAID and Dalori, adding that the Nigerian troops are on ground to bring calmness to the area.
In his words, “There were reported bomb explosions around UNIMAID and Dalori. Troops are already on ground. “I believe you will get further details later”, Brig Gen Usman
