Haruna: The Cost Of Generalization— Bashir Lucas Samson Lukman

This is Haruna, a corps member who was murdered yesterday, Monday, March 30th, 2026—a day before his POP.

Haruna was gruesomely murdered by angry individuals in Angwa Rukuba, Jos, Plateau State, following an attack on the community that left many dead, including both Muslims and Christians.

Following incitement from Evangelist Ezekiel Dachomo and Alex Barbir, the mob killed the innocent Haruna because he was Hausa and Muslim.

Immediately after the sad attack on Palm Sunday, Alex Barbir was at the scene and claimed that innocent Christians had been killed, ignoring the deaths of non-Christians. In earlier videos, Evangelist Ezekiel Dachomo had referred to Allah as a “bloodsucker,” promoting the narrative that every conscious Muslim’s objective is to kill for Allah. This same narrative has been echoed by Alex Barbir in videos where he misinterpreted Qur’an verses to falsely claim that Nigerian Muslims are out to wipe out Christians.

These kinds of narratives are dangerous in an already volatile city like Jos, as we can see in the gruesome murder of Haruna. Dachomo and Alex claim to fight for the protection of Nigerian lives, yet in the same vein accuse Islam and Muslims of terrorism. This is not humanitarianism; it is evangelical activism.

For the record, I have posted the video of Haruna’s murder on Suqsphere, where Islamophobes cannot influence its removal. It is unfortunate that we have to mourn the dead while also keeping records to show that the killings are not one-sided.
