_______
And fear a trial which will not strike those who have wronged among you exclusively, and know that Allah is severe in penalty.
-Sura Al-Anfal, Ayah 25
____
Fitnah is a bane
of nine-hundred-and-
ninety-nine or infinite
doors
to its abode,
with unclosed oculi.
see;
shinning bracelets
jingling anklets
skimpy shorts
tight clothings;
advertising cleavages cum
obscenity —
in the open,
are fitnah.
tailing the opposite sex
in submission,
while cornering a meek smile
towards an enclosed space
with no mahram in sight — fitnah.
Not taking caution by its ears,
in entering upon the female folks
when they are highly vulnerable
opens the oculus to temptations,
for even one’s In-law is death.
Words flying from ignorant mouths
targeted at issuing rulings
which even those with knowledge
are keeping mum,
with thought burning heads — fitnah.
And if one does not tame his eyes
from gazing on every figure
or what lies between the thighs,
from falling into diverse orifices;
the evil therein overpowers
the pleasure.
But freeing one’s self from fitnah
lies in adhering
to the Kitab & Sunnah.
