Conversation with a Pastor (From Word Crusaders Evangelical Ministry)
Am on my way to ACADIP meeting some days ago when I met a Pastor and his fellow Evangelist preaching to a Muslim brother so I stopped to interfere and ask some few questions regarding the Christian faith.
According to what Jesus said in John 8:31,
“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed;”
Me : Pastor, Can you show me that mono compound statement where Jesus said accept me as your personal Lord and Savior “?
Pastor : You can’t find that in the Bible.
We discuss about the identity of Jesus Christ based on the Biblical report and Pastor clearly say that Jesus is God. Not quite long, I asked his fellow Evangelist do you also believe Jesus is God?
Female Evangelist : No, Jesus Christ is not God, He is the Son of God.
After hearing from both Evangelist, I remember the word of Allah, Allah says;
Surah Al-Maeda, Verse 14:
وَمِنَ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا إِنَّا نَصَارَىٰ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَهُمْ فَنَسُوا حَظًّا مِّمَّا ذُكِّرُوا بِهِ فَأَغْرَيْنَا بَيْنَهُمُ الْعَدَاوَةَ وَالْبَغْضَاءَ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَسَوْفَ يُنَبِّئُهُمُ اللَّهُ بِمَا كَانُوا يَصْنَعُونَ
And with those who say, We are Christians, We made a covenant, but they neglected a portion of what they were reminded of, therefore We excited among them enmity and hatred to the day of resurrection; and Allah will inform them of what they did.
Unity can only be found in Islam as Islam is the Religion ordained by God.
