Jesus could have died for our sins only if he actually died whereas he was not killed neither was he crucified; those who think he died follow only conjecture. It is not strange that when the arrest of Jesus occurred, the whole disciples fled and forsook him (Mark14:50). The gospel according to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were written years after Jesus left the surface of the earth, none of them knew what exactly happened, they all wrote from hearsay. Let us read the beginning of the gospel of Luke,
“Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us,
“Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;
“It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus (Luke 1:1-3).
We can read how the author was addressing Theophilus. The author of the gospel of look didn’t claim his story is from God neither did he claim to be present but he wrote from hearsay. It is for this reason that the gospels contradicted one another. For example, the author of the gospel of Matthew and Luke could not agree on whether one or both thieves crucified with Jesus mocked him. We read in Matthew 27:44
“The two thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same (mockery) in his teeth”
We read in Luke 23:39-40,
“And one of the malefactors(thieves) which were hanged railed on him, saying, if thou be the Christ, save thyself and us.
” But the other answering him, saying, dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
One lie is all that is needed to disprove the divinity of these gospels as they are ascribed to God. It would be blasphemy to ascribe this contradiction to God. God would not reveal to the author of the gospel of Matthew that both thieves mocked Jesus then reveal to the author of the gospel of Luke that both one of them mocked Jesus.
There are several other places where the authors of the four gospels contradicted one another. Another example is what time was Jesus crucified. In Mark 15:25, the bible says Jesus was crucified in the third hour while John19:14-18 says he was crucified in the 6th hour.
These little contradictions may not be sufficient to disprove Jesus’ crucifixion but are enough to prove that these gospels were not revealed by God. Let us now look into more verses in the bible that makes it axiomatic that Jesus died not. In the book of psalms chapter 37:28, the bible says,
“For the LORD loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. Wrongdoers will be completely destroyed: the offspring of the wicked shall perish.”
Here the bible tells us that God loves those who are just and will never forsake those who are faithful to him. Any Christian will agree that Jesus Christ was faithful, just, and righteous. Now, let us read what Matthew 27:46 says,
”And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice saying, Eli, Eli, why hast thou forsaken me?”
Jesus was asking God why he was being forsaken. If Jesus was actually forsaken on the cross that means he was not righteous at the point of crucifixion. If then Jesus was not righteous at the point of crucifixion, what is the fate of over one billion Christians we have in the world today?
Jesus Christ was a righteous messenger of God and God could not have forsaken him that is why the Quran says in sura An-Nisaa,
” And for their saying, “Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.” And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but another was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain”
” Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise.
The Bible again says in Hebrews 5:7,
” (Jesus) who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, AND WAS HEARD IN THAT HE FEARED”
If Jesus strongly cried to God and tears unto God and his prayers were heard by God, then Jesus did not die. If Jesus died, that means God did not answer Jesus’ prayers. Now, if during the last days of Jesus, God did not answer his prayers, are those who rely on Jesus not in soup?
