THAT ABRAHAM WAS NOT A MUSLIM AND AS SUCH ISLAM HAS NEITHER LINKAGE WITH ABRAHAM NOR HIS RELIGION.
OUR RESPONSE :
Many so-called Christian Evangelist who are highly spiritually blind to see the truth like Evangelist Isang Udo Akagha and the likes are seriously disturbed about the spread of Islam in the world and as such they try to apply different techniques to blackmail the religion of Islam in the eyes of their ignorant followers.
There is no single educated Christian who will deny the fact that Abraham submitted himself totally to the Almighty God in both the Bible and the Qur’an and as such he is a Muslim because Islam means Submission to the will of God.
PROPHET ABRAHAM WAS A MUSLIM ACCORDING TO THE QUR’AN
The Qur’an stated categorically in many verses that Prophet Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian but a pure Muslim who submitted himself to God.
Let’s consider the following verses.
When his Lord said to him, (Abraham) “Submit”, he said “I have submitted [in Islam] to the Lord of the worlds.”
Quran (2:131)
And Abraham instructed his sons [to do the same] and [so did] Jacob, [saying], “O my sons, indeed Allah has chosen for you this religion, so do not die except while you are Muslims.”
Quran (2:132)
Or were you witnesses when death approached Jacob, when he said to his sons, “What will you worship after me?” They said, “We will worship your God and the God of your fathers, Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac – one God. And we are Muslims [in submission] to Him.”
Quran (2:133)
Say, “Indeed, my Lord has guided me to a straight path – a correct religion – the way of Abraham, inclining toward truth. And he was not among those who associated others with Allah.”
Quran (6:161)
Then We revealed to you, [O Muhammad], to follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of those who associate with Allah.
Quran (16:123)
And strive for Allah with the striving due to Him. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty. [It is] the religion of your father, Abraham. Allah named you “Muslims” before [in former scriptures] and in this [revelation] that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over the people. So establish prayer and give zakah and hold fast to Allah. He is your protector; and excellent is the protector, and excellent is the helper.
Quran (22:78)
There has already been for you an excellent pattern in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, “Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from whatever you worship other than Allah. We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone” except for the saying of Abraham to his father, “I will surely ask forgiveness for you, but I have not [power to do] for you anything against Allah. Our Lord, upon You we have relied, and to You we have returned, and to You is the destination.
Quran (60:4)
Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was one inclining toward truth, a Muslim [submitting to Allah]. And he was not of the polytheists.
Quran (3:67)
And who is better in religion than one who submits himself to Allah while being a doer of good and follows the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth? And Allah took Abraham as an intimate friend.
Quran (4:125)
Say, “Indeed, my Lord has guided me to a straight path – a correct religion – the way of Abraham, inclining toward truth. And he was not among those who associated others with Allah.”
Quran (6:161)
Note: the above few verses of the Qur’an had destroyed all the Squalid lies being propounded by The likes of Evangelist Isang Udo Akagha who claimed that prophet Abraham was not a Muslim because of his ignorance about his Bible and the Qur’an.
Moreover, the he Bible also confirms that Abraham submitted himself totally to God as mentioned below.
GENESIS 17:3-7
17:3 Abram fell facedown, and God said to him,
17:4 “As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations.
17:5 No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.
17:6 I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.
17:7 I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.
Galatians 3:6
Even so Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.
God said unto Abraham :
Genesis 12:3 ESV
I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Genesis 26:5 ESV

Because Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.”
Romans 4:3
For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”
Hebrew 11:8
By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.
James 2:23
and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God.
Note:
The above biblical verses clearly shows that Abraham believed and totally submitted to the will of God which means Abraham was a Muslim according to the Bible.
Therefore, we challenge anyone who is still doubting about the Islamic nature of Abraham to tell us where he claimed to be a Christian even in the Bible!
