WHO TRULY FOLLOW THE RELIGION OF ABRAHAM; ANALOGY TO THE REASONABLE MINDS

Placing an inquisitive statement to our neighbour believers, Christians and Jews alike, ‘about the core personality of Prophet Abraham (PBUH)?’ We will be told ‘he’s the father of faith’. Faith, as we all know; is the foundation of religion. This is a logical challenge to our neighbours (Jews and Christians) to pay heeding mind to the rightful source and origin of the true faith. An inferential writeup on the creed of our legendary Prophet Abraham (PBUH), as evidenced in the common scriptures.
We read from Romans 4:16:
“Therefore, the promise is based on faith, so that it may be a matter of grace and may be guaranteed for all of Abraham’s descendantsโ€”not only for those who were given the Law, but also for those who share the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.” (International Standard Version)

“…not only for those who were given the Law, but also for those who share the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.” The grace of our God is only guaranteed for all the descendants of Abraham who follow the law properly and do not deviate from Abraham’s path. The verse continued, that those who share the faith of Abraham are also the claimants of the grace of Allah. As such, Abraham is termed to be ‘the father of all (Nation)’.

If we ask the faith of Abraham, it was best described in the Holy Qur’ฤn:
And strive hard in Allah’s Cause as you ought to strive (with sincerity and with all your efforts that His Name should be superior). He has chosen you (to convey His Message of Islamic Monotheism to mankind by inviting them to His religion, Islam), and has not laid upon you in religion any hardship, it is the religion of your father Ibrahim (Abraham) (Islamic Monotheism). It is He (Allah) Who has named you Muslims both before and in this (the Quran), that the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) may be a witness over you and you be witnesses over mankind! So perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), give Zakat and hold fast to Allah [i.e. have confidence in Allah, and depend upon Him in all your affairs] He is your Maula (Patron, Lord, etc.), what an Excellent Maula (Patron, Lord, etc.) and what an Excellent Helper!” (Surah Al-Hajj, 22:78)

As simple as that: “… it (Islam) is the religion of your father Ibrahim (Abraham). It is He (Allah) Who has named you Muslims both before and in this (the Quran).” The pristine source (Qur’ฤn) specified and show us how and where the name Muslim was originated; from our forebear, Abraham (PBUH). Our neighbour believers claimed Abraham to be the father of faith but they refused to follow his footstep in faith. Then I wonder, if faith (believe) is removed from a persons action, how can such person be saved from the Creators retribution and gain access to heaven? Faith as such, remain the solid and main bedrock of one’s religion.

This is an invite to our neighbouring believers to reflect on the wordings of the real faith of Abraham (PBUH) and follow him in other to be guided in faith. Glad tidings to all those who follow the excellent example in faith:
Indeed there has been an excellent example for you in Ibrahim (Abraham) and those with him, when they said to their people: “Verily, we are free from you and whatever you worship besides Allah, we have rejected you, and there has started between us and you, hostility and hatred for ever, until you believe in Allah Alone,” (Surah Al-Mumtahina, 60:4)

Indeed there has been an excellent example for you in Ibrahim”. Good model indeed; Abraham still remain the legend and we Muslim believes him to be the father of faith. All the previous Prophets of Allah and those that came after Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) follow the same path, and there is no change in the path of Allah:
…Thus [it is]: no change will you ever find in Godโ€™s (Allah) way; and no deviation will you ever find in Allah’s way!” (Surah Fatir, 35:43)

The bondage between these prophets gave some of them strong rank than the others. Allah reminded us about the covenant he had with five of the prophets (PBUT):

“And (remember) when We took from the Prophets their covenant, and from you (O Muhammad SAW), and from Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, son of Maryam (Mary). We took from them a strong covenant.” [Qur’ฤn 33:7]

…from you (O Muhammad SAW), and from Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, son of Maryam (Mary).” Muhammad (๏ทบ) was mentioned first because he is the one being addressed on the covenant, the other prophets follow in their order of succession. Muhammad as the last prophet among them all, was sent with just two main information to the dwellers of the earth, as he is the universal instructor of the last and final statements of Allah (Qur’ฤn). Hence, he’s the bringer of glad tidings to those who believe in the words (Qur’ฤn) of Allah, trail the path (Sunnah) of Prophet Muhammad (๏ทบ) and follow their believe with righteousness deeds. And also as a warner to those who reject this.
And We send not the Messengers but as givers of glad tidings and as warners. So whosoever believes and does righteous good deeds, upon such shall come no fear, nor shall they grieve.” Surah Al-Anaam, 6:48)

Allah emphasised on Prophet Abraham as the origin of faith and reminded the mindful believers on the status of Abraham’s creed:

“O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Why do you dispute about Ibrahim (Abraham), while the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) were not revealed till after him? Have you then no sense?” [Qur’ฤn 2:65]

It’s not funny, only the reasonable mankind will reason on the revelation of Allah.

“Guide us to the Straight Way; The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger, nor of those who went astray.” [Qur’ฤn 1:6-7]
