Islam and Muslims played a crucial role in opening the way to civilization in Europe. The Islamic Golden Age, spanning from the 8th to the 14th century, was a period of intellectual and cultural flourishing in the Islamic world. During this time, Muslims made significant contributions to science, mathematics, medicine, philosophy, art, and literature, which later influenced the Renaissance in Europe.

One of the most significant contributions of Muslims to Europe was their preservation and translation of Greek and Roman texts. When the Roman Empire fell in the 5th century, much of its knowledge was lost. However, the Muslim world preserved and expanded upon that knowledge, and Muslim scholars translated these texts into Arabic. These texts were later translated into Latin by Christian scholars in Spain, Sicily, and Italy, which helped spark the Renaissance.

Muslims also made significant contributions to the field of mathematics, particularly in algebra and trigonometry. The word “algebra” comes from the Arabic word “al-jabr,” which means “reunion of broken parts.” The Muslim mathematician al-Khwarizmi wrote a book titled “Kitab al-jabr wa-l-muqabala,” which laid the foundation for algebra. The Muslim mathematician al-Battani made significant contributions to trigonometry, including discovering the sine and cosine functions.

In the field of medicine, Muslim physicians made significant advancements in pharmacology and surgery. The Muslim physician Ibn Sina, also known as Avicenna, wrote the famous medical encyclopedia “The Canon of Medicine,” which was used as a medical textbook in Europe for centuries. Muslim physicians also developed new surgical techniques, such as the use of catgut for sutures and the use of anesthesia during surgery.

Muslims also made significant contributions to the arts and literature. Islamic art is characterized by intricate geometric patterns, calligraphy, and the use of vibrant colors. Muslim literature includes works such as “The Thousand and One Nights,” which is a collection of stories from the Islamic Golden Age. These works influenced European literature, such as Dante’s “The Divine Comedy.”

Muslims made significant contributions to the field of astronomy, which had a profound impact on the way Europeans understood the universe. Muslim astronomers made numerous observations and discoveries, including the development of the astrolabe, a device used to measure the positions of stars and planets. The Muslim astronomer al-Tusi also developed a mathematical model that accurately predicted the movements of celestial bodies. These discoveries had a profound impact on European astronomy and paved the way for the work of Copernicus and Galileo.

In the field of architecture, Muslims developed a unique style that combined intricate geometric patterns with calligraphy and arabesque designs. This style is evident in many famous Islamic buildings, such as the Alhambra in Spain and the Great Mosque of Cordoba. These designs later influenced European architecture, particularly during the Gothic period.

Muslims also made significant contributions to agriculture and farming practices. The Muslim scientist al-Jahiz wrote a book titled “Book of Animals,” which contained detailed observations and descriptions of various animals and their behavior. This book later influenced European naturalists such as Darwin. Muslim farmers also developed new irrigation techniques and introduced new crops, such as citrus fruits, to Europe.

In the field of philosophy, Muslim scholars made significant contributions to the study of metaphysics and ethics. The Muslim philosopher al-Farabi developed a theory of knowledge that was influential in the development of European scholasticism. The Muslim philosopher Ibn Rushd, also known as Averroes, wrote commentaries on the works of Aristotle that were later studied by European scholars during the Renaissance.

Moreover, Muslims played a key role in facilitating trade and commerce between Europe, Asia, and Africa. The Islamic world acted as a bridge between the East and the West, and Muslim merchants established extensive trade networks that facilitated the exchange of goods and ideas. These trade routes, known as the Silk Road and the Spice Route, played a crucial role in the development of European economies.

A true life story of my beloved uncle.

My late father told us the story of how one of our uncles, who was a pagan, embraced Islam. Some of his elder brothers actually had masquerades. They once caused trouble in the market square and beat up some Fulani men who refused to give them money during their Egungun festival. Fulani leaders went to the police station to report, and masquerades were rounded up by local police and jailed for seven days! They made sure they remained in their Egungun costumes for the most part of their incarceration in police custody.

Because of their blood relation to the Ado royal family in Saki, one of his brothers threatened the police that they would incur the wrath of the reigning king Oladosun if they put him behind bars. Perhaps out of respect for the reigning monarch, police treated him with some honours, isolated him, and took him to the Okere palace to report what happened to the king.

At the palace, after the police narrated the incident to the king, Kabiesi asked for the whereabouts of other masquerades. The police responded that they were in custody but only isolated him because they discovered he was from the royal family. The king’s reply changed the whole matter from that moment onward. “I used to think you, the police, knew your job very well. You know well that I don’t have a prison in this palace to keep a criminal, yet you chose to bring him here just because he’s my son. Is there no more space in the prison where you kept his accomplices?” The king then rose angrily from his throne and went into his inner chambers.

The police beat my late uncle, Blue, and Black, and dragged him on the floor for almost the entire period of their journey back to their station. He returned to other masquerades, dejected and humiliated. All their hope that the king would come to their rescue by virtue of my late uncle being of royalty vanished instantly; the palace rejected their impunity, and it dawned on them that they were in deep shit! They were beaten that night like a man caught stealing a pregnant goat in the town square on the sunny afternoon of a market day.

Elders in town began to visit the king daily, urging him to intervene and save Egungun masquerades from overwhelming shame and disgrace. The king bailed them out after a week of grueling time in ‘Gullak’. Egungun priests and the town pagans collectively threatened to punish the police after their release. They had meetings upon meetings in their Igbale (Shrine) and gave a seven-day ultimatum before the police would be beaten out of the barracks by some unseen demons.

On day seven, nothing happened, they were all shocked! It appears all their charms have become impotent against the law enforcers. My father was just a young lad who was curious about it all. The pagans extended the police’s doomsday by another seven days. On day three, my uncle threatened to leave paganism if nothing happened to the police. He was so embittered that the king humiliated him, and the “Alales” (ancestors) also looked away as if nothing had happened. He said if ancestors could not help masquerades, he would bid a forever good-bye to paganism.

On day five of the newly set ultimatum, the pagan chiefs got confused because nothing worked. They plotted to go physical with the police. After all, the elders do say that “when the oracle is cast, and it fails to speak favourably, it’s the prerogative of Babalawo to manually re-align Opele to the appropriate Odu”. They prepared some diabolic concussions, took it to a market square in the night, and kept them safe on the branch of a big tree at the centre of the market. It was a night market, and police officers used to come there after the closure of work to get groceries for their wives.

The plan was that two people would climb the tree after sunset and lay an ambush for the policemen. Once they arrive and pass under the tree, they pour some of the concussions on their heads. The occultic priests had assured them that all they needed was for the concussion to touch anyone’s skin, and he would instantly become leprous! They had planned on infecting as many policemen as came to the night market with leprosy.

All was set; two pagans had climbed the tree. The night wasn’t dry, as the sky had earlier showered some very light rain. The tree had provided them with a perfect hiding place in the thick, luxurious foliage of the season. They were waiting, waiting, and waiting for the unfortunate policemen that would show up at the market that night. While they lurked high above one robust branch, buying and selling went on smoothly underneath them. Under that tree, a handful of market women were so engrossed in overflowing gossip about their various homes that they couldn’t have sensed some imminent danger was menacingly dangling above their newly plaited heads.

The night thickened on and on, trading continued in the process, and as our elders do say, “Be cheated and I won’t be cheated, are the two arguments that produce all the noise in the marketplace.” There were occasionally some thunder rumblings that broke up the seemingly constant background noise of the traders. It is as if the heavens are sounding some note of warning that the early evening showers, which had slightly soaked the marketplace, were just a forerunner of a coming heavy downpour that might completely drench the whole town later that night. Even though the periodic lightning that ushered each episode of thunder brightly lit up everything in sight, it failed to expose the hiding place of the two pagans because they had taken shelter deep into the thickness of the old Odan tree.

Seconds rolled into minutes, and minutes into hours. They believed that the “mixture of vengeance” had found safety in a traditional gourd that one of its two bearers held tightly in his hand. There was no sign of a single policeman from the vantage point where they had been sitting for hours. They have now grown impatient, frustrated, and more desperate. The initial loud noise of the market had begun to wane, and as our elders do say, “When a strand is removed and another one follows suit, a bunch of brooms will soon turn empty.” People had started departing the market, and the crowd was getting dispersed and becoming gradually lean.

One of the concoction bearers suggested coming down from the tree to investigate further if any policeman could be spotted around. They agreed, and he stealthily climbed down, sneaking slowly and smoothly down the main trunk, virtually unnoticed by people around. He soon mingled with the remaining traders and began prying here and there, pretending to look for something to buy.

Suddenly, he took a cursory look at an approaching figure from a discernible distance. A young policeman clad in a white mufti was walking into the market square, clutching a small basket in one hand and a leathery office bag hanging on his alternate shoulder. He wore a very light complexion that easily gave his face away, even several yards from the reach of the faint light that several oil lamps in the market had collectively contributed to illuminating the night.

Due to his light complexion, he goes by the name Mr. Yellow in the entire town. It’s said that no one knows his real name except his police colleagues. He is described as a very charming young officer with dark curly hair, tall, and slim, but with a bit narrow waist and broad chest. His guttural voice infuses fear into his speech when he is met at his duty post, but when he is happy, a broad smile inadvertently exposes his frontal tooth gap, which casts some kind of love spell on all spinsters that ever come across him. He is forever an object of favourable gossip among ladies, and of envy among men. Mr. Yellow, therefore, is simply unmistakable to the belligerent duo that had come to that night market with the hidden commodity of leprosy.

The fellow who identified him from the ground instantly lost his composure and jolted away from the crowd, sprinting towards the tree, where his partner had waited patiently for the good news. He got under the tree and started screaming, “One is here!” “Make haste, climb down, and bring it on quickly.” In a bit of a rush not to miss the target, the fellow holding the diabolic concoction instantly rose from the tree branch and swiftly made his way toward a lower branch with one of his legs.

It appears his desperation impaired his judgment of the distance between the first branch and the second, or perhaps the night showers had moistened the second branch and rendered it too slippery. The main trunk of Odan tree is often coarse and climbers-friendly, but subsequent branches are often enveloped in snake skins. The branches appear to have taken some zoological oath never to forgive the missteps of any climber.

In this pagan’s instance, the tree branch wasn’t the only one in haste to punish that unfortunate violation of the arboreal concords; gravity also appears to have considered the man’s prolonged stay on the tree an unpardonable contempt against its natural force, power, and authority. After all, our elders say that “Laala that goes up is definitely bound to gravity reclaim”.

He first lost control of the gourd in his hand, which he accidentally smashed against another unforgiving branch, but that was not the real problem. He fell headlong on his partner waiting under the tree, and gravity made sure he reached the ground before granting the broken gourd express permission to pour its leprotic content in that same direction in a furious torrent.

You don’t want to ask me what became of their lot. My uncle renounced the pagan faith, deserted his masquerade costumes, and embraced the doctrine of monotheism Islam offers the world. The pagans mobilised all their resources to fight him in order to prevent others from following his path and losing their members. He underwent a lot of trials in Dunya and even lost one of his eyes in the process. Yet many fellow pagans embraced Islam, following in his foot-step.

He was also previously a reputable Ifa priest before embracing Islam. He was close to his 70s when he asked me to teach him how to recite Arabic. We couldn’t finish Qaidat when he died. He loved me like his surviving second eye. Help me pray for him today in your Sallah. We call him “Baba. Yusuf Fadeyi”. May Allah overlook his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.

Fact-check: Millions of Cockroaches invade Mecca like the Third Egyptian Plague

There is a video in circulation by Christians with the caption, “Today in Mecca, a downpour fell on the grave of Mohammed – a flood on millions of people who came to celebrate Ramadan. A minute after the rain, millions of cockroaches crawled out of the ground, so the prayer stopped and everyone ran away shouting: -Stop it, get out! Everything is like in the TORA – the third Egyptian plague …”

Quick Fact: A locust swarm is a phenomenon that is not exclusive to Saudi Arabi. This was in 2019, not 2023. The Saudi Government solved the problem by spraying aerosol inside the mosque, its surroundings as well as some certain areas of the city. This was executed by a team of 22 comprising 138 individuals who used 111 aerosol diffusers.

Exposing the Mischief in the Video

Claim 1: “Today in Mecca, a downpour fell on the grave of Mohammed – a flood on millions of people who came to celebrate Ramadan”

Rebuttal – The grave of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) is in Medinah not Mecca

What information is the writer trying to pass across? Is it that a downpour fell on the grave of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) that brought about the locusts swarm or “a flood on millions of people who came to celebrate Ramadan.”?

– “a flood on millions of people who came to celebrate Ramadan.”

Millions of Muslims do not go to Mecca to celebrate Ramadan. Millions of Muslims go to Mecca for Pilgrimage while millions of Muslims celebrate the end of the month of Ramadan.

Claim 2: “A minute after the rain, millions of cockroaches crawled out of the ground”

Rebuttal – This is a lie. In the video, there’s no evidence that cockroaches crawled out of the ground. In the video, the floors are well covered with tiles/marble that if millions of cockroaches came out of the ground, it will be obvious.

Claim 3: “so the prayer stopped and everyone ran away shouting: -Stop it, get out!”

Rebuttal – Contrary to the claim, there’s nothing in the video that suggests that people were running helter skelter. If they were, the writer of the caption will not have such a stable and calmly filmed video to write a caption about.

Claim 4: “Everything is like in the TORA – the third Egyptian plague …”

If the author’s claim was true according to Exodus 8:16-17, how come Saudi Government quickly got rid of these insects with aerosol?

Verdict: The caption is another gimmick of the missionaries to fool unsuspecting Muslims.

The Concept Of Equality As Defined By Allah by Ameen Olorunnimbe

We praise our Lord, Allah the Creator of heavens and the earth. And we sent greetings and salutations to our noble prophet. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. Aameen.

Equality is defined as…a world where all people have equal opportunities. Equal access, control over resources, benefits and services to all people. It is through equitable processes in which people obtain equality.

It is true, many people do not have a home (a house, an apartment, etc.) to live.

It is true, many people do not have enough nutritious food to eat, no clean water or goods (clothings and shoes).

It is true many people have no access to a basic education, as a result, many have not learned how to read and write. Many people do not have a college or university degree or diploma.

It is true, many people do not have an internet connection.

It is true, many people have no television or radio or computer etc.

While identifying different kinds of inequalities that exist in society, various scholars, thinkers and ideologists have highlighted three main dimensions of equality namely, political, social and economic.

The Qur’an 49:13 does not make any distinction on the basis of sex and believes in human equality: O Mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise each other). The Qur’an advocates equality between all men and women, and says that it is the only “good deeds” that may raise the status of one human over another.

First, women and men are created from the same entity (Qur’an 4:1), and for that reason they are of equal standing. Second, both women and men have the obligation to live good lives and to do good works (Qur’an 16:97). Third, women and men have the same right to be rewarded for their works (Qur’an 33:35).

Once a year, the month of Hujaj (Hajj period), Muslims of every ethnic group, colour, social status, and culture gather together in Mecca and tawwaf the Kaaba praising Allah together. It is a ritual that is designed to promote the bonds of Islamic brotherhood and sisterhood by showing that everyone is equal in the eyes of the Creator.

The rights bestowed upon mankind include the right to life and peaceful living as well as the right to own, protect, and have property protected Islamic economic jurisprudence. The Qur’an also defines the rights for minority groups and women, as well as regulations of human interactions as between one another to the extent of dictating how prisoners of war ought to be treated.

Allah says in Qur’an 17:70 “We have honoured the children of Adam, and provided them with rides on land and in the sea. We provided for them good provisions, and we gave them greater advantages than many of our creatures.

Its also says in the Qur’an 49:13 “O people, we created you from the same male and female, and rendered you distinct peoples and tribes that you may recognise one another. The best among you in the sight of the Creator is the most righteous. Allah is Omniscient, Cognisant.

God almighty says that mankind are the descendants of one man Adam and one woman. Therefore, they are brothers to one another. This is Human rights in Islam. The Qur’an emphases on equality and justice. The duty of a Muslim is to be just and truthful and enjoys a high priority status. It is described Qur’an that “O you who believe! be maintainers of Justice, bearers of witness of Allah’s sake, Though it maybe against your own selves or (your) parents or near relatives; if he be rich or poor, Allah is nearer to them both in compassion; therefore do not follow (your) low desires, lest you deviate; and if swerve or turn aside, then surely Allah is aware of what you do”. The Qur’an, also unequivocally restricts its believers from aiding someone in need of their help only where they intend to deceive or carry out an act of aggression by stating “help one another in goodness and piety, and do not help one another in sin and aggression”. Furthermore, the Qur’an teaches its followers that treating followers of other religions justly, and kindly is an article of faith. So, the Christians and their churches must be protected, so also the Jews. There is no compulsion in religion the Qur’an say in 2:256, however, the truth is clear from error. Allah has indeed defended His religion.

Life is a divine bestowal on humankind. It should be secured and defended by all. According to the Qur’an, it is the individual and universal duty of Muslims to protect the dignity of merits and virtues of others. Life in Islam is attributed tremendous value. The Qur’an says that “whoever slays a soul, it is as though he slew all men; and whoever keeps it alive, it is as though he kept alive all men;”. The Creator forbids the taking of life without due process of the law, and He also obligates Muslims to provide for those who cannot provide for themselves. The right to life is conferred by the Qur’an even on one’s enemy during the war as Muslims are forbidden from using force except in self-defense. Also protected by Allah are the Elderly, women, and children of the enemy and to these, there are no exceptions.

Allah bestows upon mankind the right to own property as well as, the freedom to deal and trade as they please in what they own provided they do so fairly. Moreover, throughout the Qur’an the feeding of orphans, the poor, and the needy are an article of faith that signal one’s true devotion to the teachings of Islam. The message is very clear and unambiguously in the following verse “Those, who, Should We establish them in the law, will keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and enjoin good and forbid evil; and Allah’s is the end of affairs”. The principles of justly protecting the rights and property of those in need of such protection, i.e. orphans, windows and elderly are brought together effortlessly in the holy Qur’an when it says “And give to the orphans their property, and do not substitute worthless (thing) for (their) good (ones), and do not devour their property (as an addition) to you own property; this is surely a great crime”.

The holy Qur’an 18:29 says “This is the truth from your Lord, “then whoever wills let him believe, and whoever wills let him disbelieve. And further says “Do you know who really rejects the faith? That is the one who mistreats the orphans. And does not advocate the feeding of the poor. And woe to those who observe the contact prayers (Salat) – who are totally heedless of their prayers. They only show off. And they forbid charity (Qur’an 107:1-7).

As to women’s rights the Qur’an dedicates a chapter to women which is evident from the very name of the chapter, An-Nisa (the women). The Qur’an in that chapter states that whoever does good deeds, whether they are male or female, shall enter Paradise and not the least bit of injustice shall be dealt to them. The same message is repeated in chapter sixteen…”Whoever does good whether male or female and he is a believer, we will most certainly make him live a happy life, and We will most certainly give them their reward for the best of what they did”. The ability of women to bear children is a significant attribute used by the Qur’an in a number of verses to uplift the status of women. For example, “And We have enjoined man in respect of his parents (mother) bears him with fainting upon fainting and his weaning takes two years…Allah says “Be grateful to Me and to both your parents; to Me is the eventual coming”.

Economic rights of women, the Qur’an says “And give women their dowries as a free gift, but if they of themselves be pleased to give up to you a portion of it, then eat it with enjoyment and with wholesome result”. Women have also been given the right to inherit in the Qur’an. Allah in one particular verse creates an additional obligation on men to provide, protect, and generally take care of women as their guardians and not as superiors. The most valued status as regards to women, is that of a mother in the Qur’an as it illustrates this point by binding the reward of paradise to those who satisfy the needs of their parents.?

The holy Qur’an advocates equality between all and says that the only good deeds may raise the status of one human over another. The world is yet to be balanced. Palestinians are still struggling and suffering to live in their own lands as normal human beings. The Ukrainians are fighting wars that can be avoided. The Afghanistans women are still struggling to be recognised as women stated by the holy book prophet (saw). The properties of the orphans are taken from them. The weak are still oppressed by the strong, many women are being raped and abused, many widows are not catered for. Many pregnant women have no good health care system. Life and Properties have been destroyed, and many injustices are committed in the name of justice.

The world and the UN have not done enough to protect the “equity laws” they created. There is shortage of food, clean water, education, healthcare services, orphanage facilities etc. Wars and destructions are still going on, in Sudan, Ethiopia, Jidbuti, Somalia, Nigeria, Korea, South America, etc. In these areas people cannot afford to live equally and a prosperous lives. The IMF is not responsibly releasing funds, they are making it hard for all these nations to access funds. Unemployment is increasing, young people are living their countries to die in the Mediterranean Sea.?Hunger is in every lands except the western countries. The western nations have more access to IMF than the third world countries. Is that equality? The UN and the IMF have to make adjustments. There will not be equity until wars are stopped, until agriculture is increased, until education funds increase, until healthcare systems are available and affordable in every country, the rich countries are causing environmental pollution but the poor countries are suffering the consequences, until justice and security services become accessible to everyone, and not until these are done, the world will be far from peace.

PRINCE BOLA AJIBOLA: AN ILLUSTRIOUS SON OF ISLAM PASSES ON AT 89

It is with a heavy heart and gratitude to the Almighty Allah that we receive the passing of our dearly beloved father in Islam, Alhaji Prince Abdul Jabbar Bola Ajibola early this morning.
He was an internationally renowned legal icon who rose to the peak of his career and profession when he became a Judge of the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Netherlands. He was once the Minister of Justice, Attorney General of the Federation, and Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

His passionate love for Islam was very palpable and contagious. If you hear him speak about Islam you will be forced to love and admire him and you will increase your dedication and commitment to Islam.
He founded Islamic Mission for Africa (I.M.A.) and the first Muslim university, The Crescent University, becoming a trailblazer and pacesetter, inspiring some other Muslim organizations who emulated his footsteps in establishing more universities for Muslims.

He invited many Islamic scholars and academicians to brainstorm and assist in establishing a worthy Islamic organization, Islamic Mission for Africa (IMA), an Islamic centre and a Muslim university and made them available for the benefit of the Muslim ummah at large.
He was also a great Muslim philanthropist and was ever eager to assist and contribute his quota to the cause of Islam and the welfare of Muslims. He also strove selflessly and tirelessly for the unity and progress of Muslims in the southwest of Nigeria.
May Allah forgive him and have mercy upon him. May Allah widen, illuminate and fill his grave with the sweet fragrance of musk from paradise. May Allah build for him a castle in the Highest Firdaws with the righteous. And may Allah give his family and the entire Muslim ummah the fortitude to bear the great loss. Amin.

Born on 22nd March 1934 to the Owu Royal Family, His Excellency Judge Bola Abdul Jabbar Ajibola attended Owu Baptist Day School, Ago Owu and Baptist Boys High School, Abeokuta, Ogun State for his primary and secondary school education between 1942 and 1955. In 1958, he was enrolled at Holborn College of Law, University of London from where he graduated in 1962 with a degree in law before he was called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn on 27 November 1962. He was President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), 1984-1985 and Attorney-General/Minister of Justice (1985-1991). From there, he moved to the International Court of Justice, Den Hague, Netherlands. After a three-year stint at the World Court in 1994, he further served as Judge Ad Hoc of the World Court from 1994 to 2002. He was appointed Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also served as the Nigeria High Commissioner to the United Kingdom between 1999 and 2002. He was Chairman of Nigerian delegation to the Nigerian-Cameroon Mixed Commission on the Bakassi Peninsula. Prince Ajibola served as Vice President and later President of the World Bank Administrative Tribunal from 1994 to 2005; President, World Association of the World Jurists and Arbitrator, Ethiopia-Eritrea Boundary Dispute Commission. A voracious reader, prolific writer, renowned administrator, jurist and arbitrator of global acclaim, Prince Ajibola has attended numerous international conferences and has held international positions and arbitration assignments too numerous to mention here. In his professional career, he has provided outstanding legal consultancy services to several companies including Avon Cosmetics Limited; Masms Solicitors and Co. of London; Exxon, Houston, Texas, USA and Arthur Anderson and Co., London and Lagos. In recognition of his outstanding imprints on the sands of time, Usmanu Dan Fodiyo University, Sokoto, awarded him Doctor of Literature (D. Litt) in 2003 while the Federal University of Agriculture conferred on him an Honorary Doctor of Agriculture (D. Agric) in 2004. As the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice between 1985 and 1991, he never took home a salary, asking that same should be distributed to the coffers of Federal Government (35%), Nigerian Bar Association (25%) and Charitable/humanitarian organisations (40%). The first Nigerian to be so selfless. He also founded African Concern, a non-governmental organisation in Lusaka, Zambia in May, 1995 to promote peace, justice and harmony among peoples of Africa in order to eradicate the problems of refugees arising from political conflicts and natural disasters. This, he accomplished in association with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to give succour to refugees in Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Rwanda. Prince Ajibola, an altruist, founded Islamic Mission for Africa in 1996, which gave birth to Crescent University, Abeokuta, a visionary initiative capable of building a new generation of graduates imbued with industry, moral uprightness and diligence as well as the inculcation of spiritual redevelopment in young men and women. Furthermore, the reputed legal icon and Islam’s ambassador has to his credit other awards and honours among which are: Knight of the Order of British Empire (KBE), 1989; Fellow, Chartered Institute of Arbitration (FCIArb); World Jurist Award 1987; Senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), 1986; Fellow, Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies and Commander of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (CFR) among others. Judge Bola Ajibola is the Founder/Proprietor, Crescent University, Abeokuta. Built on the pedestal of knowledge and faith, the university was established as a private academic institution under the banner of Islamic Mission for Africa(IMA). It was established in consonance with her doctrine and vision: learning and character. The operating licence from the Federal Government of Nigeria was obtained from National Universities Commission(NUC) on June 9, 2005 by the then Minister of Education, Mrs Chinwe Nora Obaji. Judge Bola Ajibola founded the university after selling his assets both in Nigeria and abroad to achieve the noble cause of assisting the Nigerian populace in closing the widening gap between attainable potential students’ population and limited space in public universities. Of his vision, the accomplishment of Crescent University is the ultimate. The university which prides itself as the Citadel of Academic and Moral Excellence has graduated 12 sets at undergraduate level and 5 sets at the Master’s level. Escalating Tensions: Israeli Police Raid Al-Aqsa Mosque for Two Nights in a Row

For the second consecutive night, Israeli police forcibly entered the prayer hall of Al-Aqsa Mosque, using batons, tear gas grenades, and smoke bombs to attack Palestinian worshippers. Videos from the holy site depict a scene reminiscent of the previous night, with Israeli police assaulting worshippers, including women.
A teenage boy, 14, has reportedly been shot in the arm with live ammunition after an encounter with Israeli forces.
According to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, Israeli police forcefully entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque, resulting in at least six Palestinians sustaining injuries.
Al-Aqsa mosque was forcefully evacuated of worshippers by Israeli police, who employed rubber-coated steel bullets and teargas.
Al Jazeera’s Natasha Ghoneim, reporting from occupied East Jerusalem, stated that there were no longer any individuals inside the mosque. Israeli authorities have alleged that some Palestinians had barricaded themselves within the mosque. During the holy month of Ramadan, it is customary for Muslims to spend their nights in mosques in a practice called “i’tikaf”.

Assault beyond Ramadan

Mariam Barghouti, the Palestine correspondent for Mondoweiss, a news website, stated that the attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque are not isolated incidents limited to Ramadan, but rather part of a broader pattern of systemic violence carried out by Israeli forces. In an interview with Al Jazeera, Barghouti explained that such attacks have been happening almost daily over the past year, with Palestinian worshippers frequently being targeted. She also highlighted that less than 24 hours had passed since Israeli forces previously invaded Al-Aqsa Mosque, and that the current assault was extending beyond the walls of the old city, indicating an escalation and the likelihood of more violence.

According to Mustafa Barghouti, the general secretary of the Palestinian National Initiative, the recent violence at Al-Aqsa Mosque is a grave provocation that will likely result in further escalation. He told Al Jazeera that the Israeli government may be intentionally seeking to distract attention from their internal divisions and ongoing demonstrations against their government within Israel by inciting violence in the region.

Barghouti attributed the violence in part to the appointment of Itamar Ben-Gvir as Israel’s minister of national security, accusing the Israeli government of exploiting religion for nationalist purposes. He expressed shock at the unprecedented nature of the mosque being attacked twice in the same day, with injuries sustained by elderly individuals, children, and women, and with medical teams being prevented from reaching the injured.

“This is unprecedented that the mosque would be attacked twice in the same day, people would be injured, elderly people would be attacked, children, women in the morning. And now preventing medical teams from reaching them,” he said.

The Arab League, consisting of 22 member countries, has called an emergency meeting to address the recent raids at Al-Aqsa Mosque. Hossam Zaki, the league’s assistant secretary general, squarely blamed the Israeli government for the situation and stated that the league would work politically and diplomatically to expose Israel’s actions. Zaki also emphasized that the Israeli occupation forces always find excuses to storm the mosque, but these excuses are irrelevant at this point as the Israeli government is determined to harm the Palestinian population.

Riyad Mansour, the Palestinian ambassador to the United Nations, expressed condemnation for the Israeli actions at Al-Aqsa Mosque during a press conference on Wednesday. He emphasized that the exclusive right to practice religious traditions at the mosque belongs to Palestinian Muslims. Mansour stated that it is the right of Palestinian Muslim worshippers to exercise their religious duties and prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan and at any other time. He further argued that the Israeli occupying authority has no authority to dictate when people can pray or not at the mosque.

Canada’s New Democratic Party (NDP) is calling on the government to take action in response to the recent raids at Al-Aqsa Mosque, stating that the country cannot remain passive. NDP leader Jagmeet Singh described the police raids as “terrifying, disturbing, and brutal,” and announced that the party would introduce a motion in parliament to discuss a Canadian response. NDP legislator Blake Desjarlais emphasized the importance of the right to peaceful worship for people observing Ramadan or celebrating Passover, in a statement shared on Twitter.

Protesters gathered outside the Fatih Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey, to show solidarity with Palestinian worshippers who were forcibly removed from Al-Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday. They waved Palestinian flags and chanted slogans condemning the violence that occurred during the second raid by Israeli police at the holy site.

 

ADOGBA CENTRAL MOSQUE: MATTERS ARISING By Adejare Ibrahim

The Adogba Central Mosque, which the Oyo State Government demolished, had tons of history attached to it. Those who knew what transpired at that time would confirm what I am writing here. This story, I’m very sure, no one has ever told Governor Seyi Makinde.

In the initial stage, the Adogba Central Mosque was built by Haramain Islamic Foundation. Haramain, a Saudi-based humanitarian organization, in those days, embarked on many lofty programmes, targeted at the poor and less privileged. All these happened in the early and late 90s.

One of the cardinal programmes of Haramain was the building of central mosques across some major towns in Yorubland. Oyo, Ibadan, and some towns were the beneficiaries.

There are some mosques we see today, but some of us don’t know their origin. For example, the central mosque at Oja Oke in Ilora, Araromi Market Central Mosque in Oyo, Alegongo Central Mosque in Akobo, Ibadan, and Adogba Central Mosque were all built by Haramain Islamic Foundation.

After Chief Olusegun Obasanjo became Nigeria’s President in 1999, he became uncomfortable with Haramain’s humanitarian activities. The hatred and animosity Obasanjo nursed towards Haramain became so unbearable. Eventually, Obasanjo sent them packing from the shores of Nigeria.

The management of Haramain, in their wisdom, deemed it worthy of handing over some of their properties, including their mosques, to some Islamic organizations.

Alegongo Central Mosque was given to The Muslim Congress (TMC). Araromi Market Central Mosque was given to the Ahlus-sunnah Group in Oyo. Oja Oke Central Mosque was shared between the TMC and Ilora Muslim Community. As for Adogba Central Mosque, it was handed over to the Organisation of Tadomnul Muslimeen (OTM).

For the sake of clarity, all these mosques were properly transferred to those organizations, and they became the rightful owners. Among the mosques that were a bit contentious is the Oja Oke Central Mosque, which was dragged between Ilora Muslim Community and the TMC in Oyo.

People were praying in those mosques without any hindrance or hitch. Each mosque has(d) its chief imam. The Chief Imam of Adogba Central Mosque was Ustadh Abdul-Kabir Hamzah. I know him. I had prayed in the mosque before it was demolished.

When Governor Seyi Makinde assumed office as the governor of Oyo State, part of his plans was to build some bus terminals in Ibadan. Iwo Road, due to its strategic location, was marked as one of the locations of the terminals.

In the course of mapping out strategies to implement this programme, it was discovered that Adogba Central Mosque would be demolished, in order to give space for the construction of the new bus terminal.

Eyebrows were raised when the Oyo State Government raised the issue with the management of Adogba Central Mosque. However, the Governor himself waded in and convinced the management that a more befitting mosque would be built for the management, in replacement of the demolished mosque.

Therefore, a new site was allocated for the mosque building and work commenced. After waiting for a long period, the mosque was eventually built and completed. Many Muslims were happy and praying for the Governor.

This kind gesture would have earned Governor Seyi Makinde widespread accolades from the entire Muslim Ummah of Oyo State, which would have transformed into more votes for him at the poll if he had stuck to the earlier agreements he had with the mosque’s management.

Sadly, the Governor reneged on his promises and earlier agreements. The mosque was named “Seyi Makinde Central Mosque”. Habaa! This is a breach of trust. From the aforementioned story, the mosque and its management belong to the Organisation of Tadomnul Muslimeen (OTM). It does not belong to the Governor.

Although, we know that the Governor, being a Christian, would not pray in the mosque. Nevertheless, records have to be set straight. I am sure the Governor would not have taken this wrong step if he had been properly briefed by those Muslims who are close to him.

The Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Religious Affairs, Alhaji Abdulazeez AbdurRasheed, who happens to be my cousin, should present this post to his Principal and advise him accordingly. Therefore, the new Adogba Central Mosque should be properly handed over to the Organisation of Tadomnul Muslimeen (OTM).

God Is Like Router: Mallam Samson Meets Evangelist Esther By Bashir Lucas Samson Lukman

No sooner had I gotten to the mall than a young man approached me with flyers in his hands. He introduced himself and on asking for my name, I told him, “Lucas”. After the pleasantries, I told him that if he wants to invite me to an event, I am not interested.

“Oh! No!” It is a Church program”, he said. I touched my beard and my trouser and said, “Muslim”. The young man apologized and left. Moving a few steps further, I saw that they were many, each one trying to share as many flyers as possible. As fate would have it, another one, a female, approached me and this is our Evangelist Esther. She is not an ordained Evangelist but pulled some Evangelical stunts.

Again, I touched my beard to signify my being Muslim but she seemed not to innocently understand or it was just pretense. Well, I told her that I am a Muslim and not interested but Esther persisted. She said anyone can wear a beard, it doesn’t mean they are Muslims. I asked, “like my own?”, and she replied in the affirmative.

I told her that I am a Muslim and as such, I can’t accept her invitation and unsurprisingly, she said it doesn’t matter if I am a Muslim, it’s all about God, then, a little wittiness ensued.

Me: Oh! So, if I invite you to the Mosque, you will honour the invitation?

Esther: Yes, why not?

Me: Very nice. I want to invite you to our mosque for worship

Esther: Okay. I will.

Me: When will you be willing to come?

Esther: I invited you first, I will come after you honour mine.

Me: Haha. So, that’s it?

Esther: Yes

Me: Okay, but what time is your event?

Esther: Tomorrow

Me: Good! Our own worship which is Maghrib is 6:50 pm tonight. You should come first

And so, Esther laughed and asked for my name. “I am Samson”, I said. Now curious, she asked why I am a Muslim and answer Samson. In response, I told her that she may not need that for now but if she insists, I will tell her.  Esther who is now ready to convert an assumed lost sheep asked me to share and so, AlhamduliLlah followed Bismillah for the chance to give da’wah.

I started off by telling her that my fundamental issue is with the Bible itself because I don’t know which one is actually the word of God. For example, the Protestant Bible has 66 books, Catholic Bible has 73 books, Ethiopian Bible includes around 81 to 84 books and the Greek Bible which has no official number has somewhere between 75 and 79 books. So, which Bible is actually the word of God?

Moving on, I mentioned that I saw back then, that what the Pastors teach is different from Biblical teachings as in the case of Trinity versus Monotheism. When I asked if she believes in Trinity, she said “Yes”, and explained it as God; the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then, I asked what is the nature of this Trinity? Is God’s Triune nature a three-in-one or one-in-three? Esther asked if there is a difference and I explained.

Three-in-one is like an egg having a yoke, albumen, and shell while one-in-three is like three different phones accessing the internet on the same router. After deliberating for some seconds, she said God is like a router manifesting himself in three ways but still one. I told her traditional Pastors will choose the egg theory. I further asked if I am not appearing to her like Lucifer. She said no and said I could proceed.

I asked her to check the Bible. In Isaiah 43:10-11, Mark 12:29, and Deuteronomy 6:4, the Bible proves that God is one. Also, Jesus, during his time on Earth never addressed himself as God because it is not logical for God to sleep, hunger, cry, and at worst, be in the belly of Mary for nine months.

“The way to worship God is another issue I have with Christianity”, I said. When Satan tempted Jesus with the kingdoms of the World, he asked him to bow down to him because he knew bowing is the way to worship God ad he wanted to feel like God. Jesus rebuked him and affirmed that bowing is for God in Matthew 4:10. Nowhere in the entire Christian Bible did Jesus dance, roll, jump, twerk, wriggle, bend, etc., in the name of worshipping God against what is obtainable in the Church today where the difference between praise and worship is just how fast the song and drumbeats are.

Esther, now with folded arms, watched as I went on and on till I asked her to say something to what I have said. She said she would get my number and get a higher authority to answer the questions because she doesn’t have all the answers. I responded by telling her that not knowing the answers is on one side while having no idea is another thing. I emphasized that what she heard is strange to her and that she has no idea. Not to be easily defeated, she said she knows what I am talking about but she just doesn’t have all the answers. I insisted that she has no idea and decided to show her.

I asked her to tell me the difference between the RSV, KJV, and the NWT Bible. She doesn’t know and I proceeded. “Some Bible versions have removed some verses present in the King James version from their own version. For example, RSV, NIV, ESV, etc. The ESV has removed 64,575 words from the Bible including Jehovah, Calvary, and Holy Ghost. Romans 16:24 is absent in NWT but present in the KJV. Acts 3:13 ad 26 of RSV replaced son with servant ad within KJV, 2 Chronicles 22:2 contradicts 2 Kings 8:26. Do you have an idea?”, I said and asked.

Now looking clueless, I decided to talk about Islam. I told her that Muslims believe in Jesus but not in the way Christians do. We do not take him as the son of God, God, or God the son. He is a Prophet from God who did miracles and we revere Mary, his mother. The Qur’an came to clear the manipulations of the scripture as done by the scribes and only Islam can save Christians from the effect of Roman culture on Christianity.

We exchanged numbers and spoke briefly this afternoon, may Allah guide her. Aameen.

The just-concluded 2023 Presidential election in Nigeria reflected the usual tribal and religious jingoism Nigerians have become accustomed to. It also came with an unprecedented dimension in that it was a wonderful theatricalization of the days of the struggle for Jerusalem between Christian Crusaders and Muslims in the religious sense, a seeming prequel to a civil war in the tribal sense, and a non-evangelical conversion of some acclaimed sons and daughters of God into skepticism.

The Church played an active role in the skepticism that has engulfed some of its members. Having being asked to take back their country, the altar became a tool of politics with fake prophecies, lies, manipulations, and propaganga. Innocent Christians who, instead of reading the Bible for themselves, listened to their so-called men of God gullibly. The election was said to be God’s agenda, revelations here and there.

“Thus saith the Lord…An Angel spoke to me…I had a revalation” were the beginning of many of these lies. These Christias who had thought these so-called Prophets actually heard from God became dissapointed with some of them vowing not to worship God again. Some of them claimed to be seeking Islam and it is for that purpose this article is written. In this article, we will analyze the prophecy of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy who said an Angel of God spoke to him about three candidate which he described as a demon, a thief, ad a saint. Note that  Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party were the top candidates. After the election, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was anounced the the winner of the election.

For the first candidate, he said, ““He is not himself. He is under the influence of a devil. This devil was mocking and laughing, scoffing at Nigerians.”

The devil is using him. It’s a wicked spirit of darkness, a mocker. The devil’s named him a jackal. A jackal is a trickster, a swindler who usually operates on behalf of another for deception. This demon is mocking Nigeria. But he’s been cut off.”

On the second candidate, he claimed that the spiritual prophecy revealed him to be a thief and would run the country down.

“In the spirit of the second candidate, if you let him get into office, you will have no country. You would have sold your country,” he said.

On the final candidate, he revealed although his name is in the bible, he is scared of winning but doesn’t want to lose. ”Then, in the spirit, the third candidate was afraid of winning. He didn’t want to lose, but he was scared of winning. Then I prayed, Lord gives him wings to fly! His name is in the Bible.” He said

Nigerians thought he was referring to Peter Obi because Peter is in the Bible. Following Tinubu’s victory, there were talks that Oyakhilome is a fake prophet since Obi did not win. Little did these people know that Oyakhilome, who might not know himself, was referrig to Bola AHMED Tinubu because the name AHMAD is in the Bible!

Prophet Muhammad in the Bible

The Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was mentioned by name in the Bible but Pastors do not show it to their memebers.

Allah says in the Qur’an,

“And ˹remember˺ when Jesus, son of Mary, said, “O children of Israel! I am truly Allah’s messenger to you, confirming the Torah which came before me, and giving good news of a messenger after me whose name will be Aḥmad.” Yet when the Prophet came to them with clear proofs, they said, “This is pure magic.” Al-Quran 61:6

“… Those who follow the Messenger, the Immaculate One, whom they find mentioned in the Torah and the Gospel which are with them.” Al-Quran 7:158

The Prophet said in an authentich hadith, ”

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“I have many names: I am Muhammad, I am Ahmad, I am al-Mahi through whom Allah obliterates unbelief, and I am Hashir (the gatherer) at whose feet people will be gathered, and I am ‘Aqib (after whom there would be none), and Allah has named him as compassionate and merciful.” Sahih Muslim 2354

In the book of Isaiah, God addresses his servants by their names. For example, “my servant Isaiah” (Isaiah 20:3); “my servant Eliakim” (Isaiah 22:20); “my servant David!” (Isaiah 37:35); “my servant Jacob” (Isaiah 41:8), etc.

Isaiah 42 reads;

“Behold! My Servant, Ahmad (whom I uphold); My Elect One, in whom My soul delights!

 [Isaiah 42:1]

The Masoretic text of Isaiah 42:1 goes like this:

הן עבדי אתמך בו בחירי רצתה נפשי נתתי רוחי עליו משפט לגויbdיוציא

The Hebrew word, “(Etmokh) אחמד” was translated to “whom I uphold”. This is the only Biblical verse where this word appears. the similarity between the writing of “אתמך”(etmokh) and the writing of “אחמד” which is the name Ahmad suggests an intended distortion by Bible scribes as we can see in another chapter of the Bible.

In John 1:19-21, we read;

19. And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, WHO ART THOU?

20. And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I AM NOT THE CHRIST.

21. And they asked him, What then? ART THOU ELIAS? And he saith, I am not. ART THOU THA PROPHET? And he answered, No.

John 1:19:21 KJV

Three questions!
Please note that three different and distinct questions were posed to John the Baptist (pbuh) and to which he gave three emphatic “NO’S” as answers.
To recapitulate
(1) ART THOU THE CHRIST?
(2)ART THOU ELIAS?
(3)ART THOU THAT PROPHET?

One challenge that Pastors, Evangelists, Bishops and Missionaries have not found answer to is to tell us the ame of this Prophet who has no name. The name of Jesus and Elias were mentioned, who then was that third Prophet, why not mention his name?. The Jews had the prophecy of a Prophet to come as we can read in the book of Deuteronomy 18:18;

‘I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him.”

A Prophet like unto Moses, it says. Christian apologists reject the Muslim idea of who was that unnamed Prophet making claim that it iwas Jesus. We make comparisons as to who was really a Prophet like unto Moses.

BELOW ARE SOME SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MOSES, MOHAMMAD AND JESUS (peace be upon them)

These similarities and differences proved the fact that, Jesus is not the prophet prophesied by Moses in Deuteronomy 18:15 and 18, and Jesus is not “THAT PROPHET” in John 1:19-21

BIRTH

Moses and Mohammad were given birth to naturally while Christ was given birth to miraculously which against the natural birth of Moses and Mohammad (peace be upon them). This clearly depict Jesus is not like Moses.

JESUS WAS REJECTED BY HIS PEOPLE

Moses and Mohammad were accepted by their people in their life time, no doubt the Jews gave endless trouble to Moses and they murmured in the wilderness, as a nation they later accept him to be a prophet of God sent to them. The Arabians too made mohammad life impossible but later accept him to be a messenger of Allah before his demise.
According to the Bible, Jesus Christ was rejected by his people. We read in the book of St. John, “He came unto his own, and his own received him not.” – John 1:11

Even today after two thousand years his people (the Jews) still reject him.

MARRIAGE TIES

Moses and Mohammad married and begat children. Jesus remained bachelor through out his life on earth (peace be upon them)

DEATH

Moses and Mohammad died and they were buried. But Jesus was raised up alive. (Peace be upon them)

NO NEW LAWS

Moses and Mohammad brought laws and regulations to their people, Moses did not only gave the ten commandments but he brought a ceremonial laws as a guidance for his people.

Mohammad comes to a people steeped in barbarism and ignorance, they buried their daughters alive, idolatry, adultery, drunkenness and gambling were the order of the day. Mohammad brought laws and regulations that elevated his people from darkness to light.

In regards Jesus, when the Jews felt suspicious of Jesus that he might be an imposter with design to pervert their teachings, Jesus took time to assure them that he had not come with a new religion, new laws and new regulations:

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Matthew 5:17

In other words he had not come to introduce new religion, new rules and new regulations. He had come to fulfil the old laws.

HOW THEY DEPARTED

Moses and mohammad died natural death, but according to Christianity Jesus was violently killed on the cross.

PARENTS

Moses had father and mother, mohammad had father and mother but Jesus had only mother and no human-father.

Whether you are tired of the lies of your Pastors or you still live in the delusion that Jesus brought Christianity, Kindly understaand that Jesus Christ lived his life as a Muslim totally submitting to the will of God (This is Islam). He believed in one God, not trinity as written in Mark 12:29 same as Moses as written in Deuteronomy 6:4. Against the contemporary Christian’s mode of worship, Jesus Christ never danced, sang and clapped to worship and praise God. His disposition on God’s nature was made manifest when, in a response to Satan’s tempation, he said in Matthew 4:10, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’. Here, he referenced Moses who said the same in Deuteronomy 6:13.
