Know Islam, Know Paradise

From the previous article, we were reminded that, having total trust and reliance on Allah Alone after we must have put in our best (prayer and effort), that He alone is able and capable of doing our wants (means for Dunya) and ends (Akhirah, meeting Allah’s Pleasure). If we do so, then we are assured, because:

“...No doubt, surely, Allah’s Promise is true. But most of them know not.” [Surah Yûnus, 10:55]

Truly, Allah never disappoints, we are the one doubting Allah; thinking can He really do it for us? Our faith is fragile, feeble, can’t hold onto the trust of Allah completely. Whereas Allah can do everything, He can make that impossibility possible, that unavailability available, that not surplus surplus. Doing those equate to nothing of His bounties! The Glorious Quran says:

إِنَّ ٱلۡفَضۡلَ بِيَدِ ٱللَّهِ يُؤۡتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُۗ وَٱللَّهُ وَٲسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ
“All the bounty is in the Hand of Allah; He grants to whom He wills. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, the All-Knower.” [Surah Âl-Imrân, 3:73].

All we need do is to have firm faith in the Mighty and Grace of Allah, remember Him always in our daily lives, preoccupy with His glorification and praise and by His Grace He Promises:

“Therefore remember Me (Allah) (by praying and glorifying), I will remember you… “ [Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:152]

To buttress this further, we look into the Hadith of our Noble Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), narrated by Abu Hurairah (RA) which says:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Allah says: ‘I am just as My slave thinks I am, (i.e. I am able to do for him what he thinks I can do for him) and I am with him if He remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, I too, remember him in Myself; and if he remembers Me in a group of people, I remember him in a group that is better than they; and if he comes one span nearer to Me, I go one cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer to Me, I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.’” [Sahih Al-Bukhâri, Volume 9, Book 93, Hadith No 502 ].

So we can see, when we keep remembering Allah, He also keeps remembering us even better than the way we do to Him. That’s why sometimes ago, I held the perception that we have different Allah (May Allah forgive me for my perception). This is because how Allah is to you or how you take your Allah might be different from how I take mine. Mine might be so precious to me and always coming first in my life. Is yours also precious and always coming first in your life? And exactly in similitude do Allah respond back to us. Mind you, we should not be taken aback by the dust of this life: some people might be seen as being disloyal to Allah and yet they have the lots of this life. This life is not the end in itself, the Hereafter is! Summing up all the enjoyment in this life is just: مَتٰعٌ إِلٰى حِينٍ ‘an enjoyment for a (least period of) time’.

One thing for sure is that as a true believer, Allah never disappoints (whatever He does, is always good, we might not know the reason behind it actually). That’s why whatever Allah gives of His bounties to us, we need to be contented and be happy. Why wouldn’t we even be satisfied when, the situations that happen to us after we have tried and done our part; is not within our effort anymore. So the rest lies with Allah. It is in the contentment in Allah that our heart would find rest.

“Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured.” [Surah Ar-Ra’d, 13:28].

Similarly, Abu Mûsa (RA) reported that:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The example of the one who celebrates the Praises of his Lord (Allah) in comparison to the one who does not celebrate the Praises of his Lord, is that of a living creature compared to a dead one.” [Sahih Al-Bukhâri, Volume 8, Hadith 416]

Therefore as a Muslim, we need to be obsessed with the remembrance of Allah at all time, in all place; praying for His forgiveness, mercy, blessing and favours. WaLlâhi as a striving believer He Promises us many things, but most of us are not taking cognizance of them. Quoted examples from the Book of Allah (Al-Qur’ân):

And Allah would not punish them… while they seek (Allah’s) Forgiveness.” [Surah Al-Anfâl, 8:33]

And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: “If you give thanks (by accepting Faith and worshipping none but Allah), I will give you more (of My Blessings)…” [Surah Ibrahim, 14:7]

And your Lord said: “Invoke Me, (i.e believe in My Oneness and ask for anything) I will respond to your (invocation)…” [Surah Ghâfir, 40:60]

Then finally, there is one of the Promises of Allah that I Love the most, in fact if possible I would inscribe it to my heart, and carry it all along, it reads thus:

“…And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allah has set a measure for all things.” [Surah At-Talâq, 65:2-3]

So let’s know what we are doing, WaLlâhi Wa Rabb Ka’abah (affirmatively) Allah’s Promise is true, but most of us know not:

يَأْتِىَ وَعْدُ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ
“…The Promise of Allah (shall) comes to pass. Certainly, Allah breaks not His Promise. [Surah Ar-Ra’d,13:31]
