STILL A CHANCE By Ibn Islam

STILL A CHANCE!

There is no doubt that you are in your youth, and that you feel and think that you have got many more years ahead to live.
But you forget that the Angel of Death does not discriminate.

Death can only be denied but can never be evaded, therefore, stop thinking that you are going to live forever- that, is a dream that you need to wake up from.

Have you forgotten your past? When your mother was admitted to hospital in a state of emergency and the nurses directed her to the labour room? With hardship upon immense hardship of pain did your mother give birth to you!

The doctor said your birth was far too fast, your heart stopped twice but yet you are lucky to survive.
When you took your first breath, your Mama took her last.
And your mother’s family were waiting at the reception to see the smile on your mama’s face but alas, they got the sad news that she was no more.

The nurses came with the baby boy wrapped in a shawl. You were introduced to them; they were in dilemma; to cry for their lost loved one or to be joyful for a loved one gained! What a situation to grapple with?

Alas! They chose to be happy for your life even as they were in this conflicting state of mind.
However, have you ever taken a step back to think about this? That it was just a chance!

Now, 20 years have gone by; you are now grown up. You are healthy, mentally capable, financially able and physically strong. Instead of you to be thankful to the One Who bestowed upon you all these mercies, you are sipped in transgressing beyond the boundaries of the One (Almighty Allāh) that created you from nothing. You now feel, think and behave as if you are the one who created yourself.

Allah (SWT) says:

We have created you, so why do you not believe?

Have you seen that which you emit?

Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator?

We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone.

In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know.” (Surah Al-Waqia, 56:57-61)
