PROVISION FOR THE NEEDY IN QUESTION By Abu Maryam Ibn Is’haq (Abumaribi)
PROVISION FOR THE NEEDY IN QUESTION
“And spend (in charity) from what We have
Provided you before death approaches one of
You and he says, “My Lord, if only You would
Give me respite for a little while so I would give
Sadaqa (and Zakah) and be among the righteous.””
[Surah Al-Munafiqoon, 63:10]
Many of us plan and make Provision
For what is yet to come in Expectation
In order to meet up future Consumption,
But we should not forget this Question;
What about the needy in Deprivation?
We better not make them a Suspension;
As we do not know the future Situation.
For Zakat to the poor is an Obligation,
Collected from the financial Possession
Of the wealthy among our Generation.
Never to be deceived by this life Passion
And ended up being in excess Consumption.
Better to sacrifice the excess for good Utilization;
Caring for the needy as part of our Occupation
In exchange for better eternal Reservation.
Sadaqa is also a voluntary Contribution
Which is one of the divine Recommendations.
Sacrificing the resources of our Acquisition
To benefit the needy and to serve as Benediction,
In order to be fortunate of Allah’s Gratification.
Only in Islam we find lifestyle of Perfection;
Acme system with the pristine Information
Which is never found in any other Institution.
Therein we find many standards of Regulation
For mankind not to follow path of Destruction.
The Ummah needs the change of Intention
For us to reach the status of Purification
So that we can be clean in our Actions,
That we may attain the state of Absolution
From any deeds that may stain our Reputation.
This should serve as an Admonition
For the capable to be in Consideration
And give the words of Allah needed Attention,
To feel for the needy in our Generation
For they are in need of our utmost Affection
As it is found in Allah’s Injunction,
Supported by his Rasul (ﷺ) Instruction;
Rendering help to our Ummah in Destitution
And this may be a form of Expiation
That will save us from Allah’s Retribution.
It is only through our strict Dedication
To the words of the Most High in Exaltation;
The last of all books of divine Revelation,
That will lead us to the blessed Destination.
Blessed is Allah the Master of Creation.
“Truly those who believe, and do deeds of
Righteousness, and perform As-Salat,
And give Zakat, they will have their reward
With their Lord. On them shall be no fear,
Nor shall they grieve.” (Surah Al-Baqara, 2:27)
