JESUS CHRIST: A WICKED-TONGUED MAN, SAYS THE BIBLE By Bashir Habeeb Adeshola
JESUS CHRIST: A WICKED-TONGUED MAN, SAYS THE BIBLE
Christians are always claiming, “he’s the lamb”, “our savior”, “the bread of life”, “Immanuel”, “the prince of peace”, “Light of the world”, “the embodiment of love”, “the lamb of God”, and many other names they associate with a loving, merciful nature. Jesus a nice guy? Not in my book. Nor in any other person’s who is capable of compassion, contemplation and rationality. We are going to examine who the Jesus character really is according to the bible(s).
The christians portrays Jesus as superhuman, this trend is nearly universal, and can be seen within the works, belief and practice of Christians. Jesus Christ was a mortal man who exercises all the characteristics of humans (eating, sleeping and others)
According to the bible, Jesus Christ is inclined to using unpleasant and impudent ways of answering and addressing people. Should we talk of the curses he rained on a fig tree (Mark 11:13-14)? Or the insults he hurled at the Pharisees (Matthew 23-13 downwards and Luke 11:42-44).
What do you say of someone who intentionally use vague impressions and verbalism so that others couldn’t understand or benefit from what he said (Matthew 13:13), Discrimination? Racism? or what?
These verses will show not only that, the supposed biblical Jesus loving nature is a joke but so are the Christians who worship him.
Jesus says that he came to destroy families by making family members hate each other.
According to gospel of Luke, it was reported that Jesus says…
49. “I came to bring fire to the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!
50. I have a baptism with which to be baptized, and what stress I am under until it is completed!
51. Do you think that I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I tell you, but rather division!
52. From now on five in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three;
53. they will be divided: father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”
LUKE 12:49-53 RSV BIBLE
A similar line and information is found in the gospel according to Matthew, chapter 10, verse 34 to 37.
Some of Jesus’s actions would bring about grave repercussions. Let’s take a look at the test of faith as mentioned by Jesus. We read…
17. And these signs will accompany those who believe: by using my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
18. they will pick up snakes in their hands, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
MARK 16:17-18 RSV BIBLE
This passage has spawned development of Christian cults who handle venomous snakes and drink strychnine as “tests of faith”:
An European Holy-spirit filled pastor by the name Mack Randall Wolford lost his precious life after practicing the test of faith as mentioned in the gospel of Mark 15. Mack Randall Wolford coiled venomous snake round his arm and neck. One, called Old Yeller, killed him.
Wolford died eight hours after he had been bitten. So, why should I believe in the biblical Jesus when I cannot boldly practice what he preached as mentioned in the Bible?

Another pastor of Pentecostal church named Pastor Jamie Coots died after being bitten by a poisonous snake in a controversial religious practice.
The “snake handling” pastor of a small Pentecostal church in Kentucky died after being bitten by a rattlesnake during a weekend church service.
These pastors thought Jesus would save them from the snakes. It is a pity, they died in agony. Isn’t this enough an evidence for the Christians to reject the Bible, it’s deadly and bad teachings?
In the gospel according John, we read that Jesus charged Jews with being the sons of the devil. Sons of devil? How will you feel if I call you a son of the devil? Sad or happy? Let’s read the context…
You are from your father the devil, and you choose to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
JOHN 8:44 RSV BIBLE
The Christians might claim that, well Jesus was trying to correct them to stop speaking from their own desires. Using vituperative and harsh words while trying to correct someone or people doesn’t make any sense. There is high possibility that one might worsen their case as they will try to defend what they believe.
Let’s pair this with one of Jesus Christ’s more famous doctrines in the book of Matthew, where he commands his followers to act peacefully and, when struck, to “turn the other cheek.” This is not a teaching of pacifism or nonviolence, but deferred violence and gormless spiritual tutelage. We read
But I say to you, Do not resist an evildoer. But if anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other also.
Let’s us take a look at another point in the book of Matthew 24:37, which reads
“For as the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.”
This alludes to Genesis 6 when God sends a flood over the Earth, destroying all life save what was on the Ark.
The biblical Jesus thought the world would be destroyed in some form when he will come for his people. “Is that eco friendly? This isn’t just genocide, it’s biocide. He’s proposing the destruction of the entire biosphere.”
Even if at all, the world would be destroyed, that would be the end of the world which is islamically known as (yaumal qiyaam) and not that, the world would be destroyed when Jesus is about to come.
If the world is to be destroyed, then where is he coming to?
Conclusively, this piece is from the biblical point of view, and that is why, every point made is referenced to the Bible.
We Muslims do not believe this words are from the son of Mary (Isah or Jesus). In Islam, Isah (Jesus “A.S”) is believed to be a leader that is worthy of emulation.
