ISN’T IT TIME?

Allah ‘aaza wa jalla, created mankind and sent to them, Prophets and Messengers (‘Alayhim Solaatu wa Salam) to guide them from darkness into light with the seal of them all being the noblest of mankind, Muhammad Mustapha bn Abdullah (Salallaahu’ Alayhi wa Sallam) who was given the complete guide; the perfect manual of life, for human. But only those who truly follow him (ﷺ) will find therein, peace and tranquility. Thus, will it not be profitable for us to sincerely follow him and have this eternal peace?

When we carefully look around today, we may find that not everyone who claims to follow the Rosûl (Muhammad ﷺ)  actually does. There are people with clear disbelief, in form of innovation, or doing directly contrary to what the Rasool (S.A.W) lived on despite the fact that he said “whoever follows me has followed Allah and whoever follows Allah will enter Paradise. But whoever goes against me has gone against Allah and whoever goes against Allah will enter hell”. Also, Allah the Most High speaks to us:
And how could you disbelieve while to you are being recited the verses of Allah and among you is His Messenger? And whoever holds firmly to Allah has [indeed] been guided to a straight path.” (Surah Al-Imrân 3:101)

Thence, the choice is ours whether or not to hold firmly to Allah and be among those who are on the straight path.

It is never profitable not to follow strictly what Allah and His Rasool laid down for us. Doing contrary things may only earn the doers worldly recognitions and achievements.

Let’s put on our thinking caps.

Some workers were employed by a certain government to clean up a road under the very government, on a weekly basis. Each worker was allocated their portion. They worked hard and were paid handsomely. One day, a man noticed these people working. He approached one of them and asked how they were employed, who employed them and how they’re paid. He then decided to go to a different road which doesn’t belong to this government. He always cleaned the road from its beginning to the end till people noticed and praised him for his hard work. There’s yet another man who didn’t bother to make any inquiry. He only began work and did something different from what the workers did. There came the day the workers were to be paid. All workers, including these men, were gathered at the government secretariat. Names were called and everyone collected their salary by hand. These men weren’t called.

Why weren’t their names called?
Aren’t they entitled to be paid for their works?
Series of questions would begin to flow in our heads. But let’s have ourselves answered.

Workers were employed by a government. The government definitely had the pay roll of their employees.
This man came and made inquiry but started working on a different road whose government needed him not, instead of applying for work at the government that employed people. The other didn’t inquire and still did what was not asked of him. Everyone around was unaware of these but praised them for being hardworking. On the pay day, definitely, they won’t be paid since no one had employed them or their services. Their only reward was the praises of the people who were unaware of their unemployed services. As soon as they started to know, they would begin to blame them.

Therefore:
ISN’T IT TIME to do the needful?
The Rasool was faithful.
He was humble and respectful.
He was helpful without being harmful.
Not being forceful.
He’s got a life full of lessons.
Isn’t it time to be careful
And be very watchful?
To be bashful from all the awful.
And be mindful of those who are dreadful.
For verily, they are harmful.
And be mindful of where, from whom, how and what we learn. Indeed, successful is the one who learns and does the rightful.

Allah says:
Has the time not come for those who have believed that their hearts should become humbly submissive at the remembrance of Allah and what has come down of the truth? And let them not be like those who were given the Scripture before, and a long period passed over them, so their hearts hardened; and many of them are defiantly disobedient.– (Surah Al-Hadîd, 57:16)
