October 13, 2018 Articles On Islam Reverts' Financial Challenges Reverts' Psychological Challenges Reverts' Spiritual Challenges 1

Few days ago, I discussed with Brother Ijaz Ahmad and Ustaadh Kabir Al-asfar (separately) about a revert brother who apostates once or twice each year for the past six years. We agreed that it is a Psycho-Spiritual issue and sought Allah’s guidance for him and us.

In an attempt to properly address Reverts’ Challenges, I categorized these challenges into Spiritual, Psychological and Financial.

Two days ago, I shared the story of a 57 year old Pastor who reverted to Islam with four Children early this year. Like many other pastors we interview and talk to, life became unbearable but for Allah’s mercy. As a revert myself, what a revert would pass through is not strange especially when it is a Pastor, Bishop or Evangelist. If not for guidance from Allah that makes them prefer the Hereafter to the Dunya, how can someone who lives comfortably on the church’s money choose to beg from Mosque to Mosque?

It is sad that many times we have to come online to solicit for twenty, thirty, fifty thousand naira to see to reverts financial challenges. After serious discussions, we came up with a big plan.

The Reverts’ Waqf Initiative

The Reverts’ Waqf Initiative is aimed at seeing to Reverts Financial Challenges across Africa. Instead of publicly soliciting week in, week out, we think it is better if we can map out a plan to generate funds.

This is a summary of the Reverts’ Waqf Initiative;

That the contribution should be in phases…

That the first phase should be 10 Million Naira

That a separate account be opened for this

That the 10 Million naira be gathered within 12 months as a long term contribution might make it tiring…

That while the contribution is on, we bring those that have been in business together to discuss what business to invest in.

That the project would he FeesebiliLlah except for brothers and sisters that might be employed, we would pay them.

That other than cases of life and death, reverts that have embraced Islam for more than five years are not entitled

That a minimum of 1,000 naira monthly from the public and we talk to those we know can donate money on the high side. For example, a person can promise to give us one million naira in a year which would be paid monthly.

This is not the official introduction of this initiative. During the official introduction, we will make the profile of those who would be in charge of the account available to the public, In shaa Allah.

Meanwhile, we have gotten a phone for that former Pastor  In shaa Allah  he would come for it on Thursday, 18th of October, 2018.

There is a plan to interview him on Sunday, 21st of October  2018 in Ilorin. Those interested in being a part of the interview should kindly get in touch with me. I can host us, In shaa Allah and perhaps, use that opportunity for deliberations about the Waqf Reverts’ Initiative.
