YAWM AL-QIYAMAH
( ﯾﻮﻡ ﺍﻟﻘﻴﺎﻣﺔ)

Once I saw a 10yrs old boy playing, he intended to throw a ball to his friends but the ball hit me instead. I was like what could be wrong, can’t you see me? I moved a little closer to scold him, on getting their I couldn’t utter a sentence.

Why? I never knew the boy was blind, I stepped back, gave the ball back to him and walked my way, fortunately it was 30min to salat and I had to stop for prayer, on getting to a nearby Masjid I saw the boy with his friends performing ablution, after we all offer our obligatory prayer, then I heard him making dua for his parents not to weep over him while his friends mocked him saying, “that is your common dua, you never pray for your sight”. I couldn’t hold it, I went ahead to ask him why don’t you pray Allah (S.W.T) to grant you your sight? he replied.

Allah has blessed me by making me blind, I thank him for this blessing. whenever I pray, I don’t request Allah to help me regain my sight, do you know why? “he asked” I sighed and replied no, he continued…

I didn’t ask for my sight because I want my judgement to be easy on the doomsday. Our sight will be the major source of our problems on yawmal Qiyam, most especially those that do not spent their time reciting the glorious Al-Quran. For the sight will be the greatest obstacle for mankind from entering al-janat.

I pray and wish Allah bestow his mercy on me on Yaumal Qiyamah, he is the doer of whatever he will.

The moment he said this, I remember the circumstances of many Muslims who Allah has granted the sight to see but are lazy to recite the Qur’an.
How will they ask Allah to forgive them on the doomsday?

Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) said in the glorious Qur’an Sura An-Naziat

They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival?

In what [position] are you that you should mention it?

To your Lord is its finality.

You are only a Warner for those who fear it.

It will be, on the Day they see it, as though they had not remained [in the world] except for an afternoon or a morning thereof.

Quran 79:42-46

They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival? Say, “Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None will reveal its time except Him. It lays heavily upon the heavens and the earth. It will not come upon you except unexpectedly.” They ask you as if you are familiar with it. Say, “Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most of the people do not know.”

Quran 7:187

There are many Ayaat and Ahaadeeth concerning this subject:

Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and rivers,

Quran 54:54

The Prophet (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) said, whilst pointing with his index and middle fingers, “The time of my advent and the Hour are like these two fingers.”

In another report he said, “The Hour almost came before me.” This indicates how close we are, relatively speaking, to the Hour. Allaah said

[The time of] their account has approached for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away.

Quran 21:1

The command of Allah is coming, so be not impatient for it. Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him.

Quran 16:1

Those who believe not therein seek to hasten it, while those who believe are fearful of it, and know that it is the very truth.

Those who do not believe in it are impatient for it, but those who believe are fearful of it and know that it is the truth. Unquestionably, those who dispute concerning the Hour are in extreme error.

Quran 42:18

The Prophet (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhe wa sallam) said, Islam will become worn out like clothes, until there will be no-one who knows what fasting, prayer, charity and rituals are. The Qur’an will disappear in one night, and no Ayah will be left on earth. Some groups of old people will be left who will say, ‘We heard our fathers saying La ilaha illa Allaah, so we repeated it.’ Silah asked Hudhayfah, “What will saying La ilaha illa Allaah do for them when they do not know what prayer, fasting, ritual and charity are?” Hudhayfah ignored him; then Silah repeated his question three times, and each time Hudayfah ignored him. Finally he answered, “O Silah, it will save them from Hell”, and said it three times. [Ibn Maajah]

This indicates that in the last days, knowledge will be taken from the people, and even the Qur’an will disappear from the Mushafs and from people’s hearts. People will be left without knowledge. Only the old people will tell them that they used to hear people saying La ilaha illa Allaah; and they will repeat it to feel close to Allah, so it will give them some blessing, even if they do not have any good deeds or beneficial knowledge. Knowledge will be taken away from men and ignorance will increase during the last days, and their ignorance and misguidance will increase until the end, as in the Hadeeth of the Prophet (sal-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).

May Almighty Allah in his abundant mercy grant us the Eeman and guide us from the punishment of Hell (Ameen)
