Once I told someone, “getting immensely rich is not a big task if I were to capitalize on the gullibility of people when it comes to religion”. I said that making reference to my encounter with a bike man I asked to take me home. On our way, I received a call and I had to say وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته، الحمد لله، الله أكبر. After the call, the bike man said to me, “Alfa, please give me something to protect myself with and get better sales.” My efforts in convincing him that help comes only from Allah fell on deaf ears, he left thinking I was hiding the “secret” I know from him, the Adhkar I recommended are not what he wanted to hear but stuffs like Lizard, rat head, black soap etc.

Another man who felt like all hope is lost though has a car met me somewhere in Ilorin . Another person there prayed and he refused to say Ameen emphasizing on how difficult life is. Took some time to tell him about my accident and why that would not stop me from being grateful to Allah. Deeply touched, he was happy and said, “I believe in Lucas. At least, I did not see Musa, ‘Eesa or Muhammad. This is how you know a true prophet of God”. InnaliLlahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. I quickly asked Allah for forgiveness, see who wants to add to my sins. استغفر الله العظيم، this is just to tell how gullible people are.

An inscription of لا إله إلا الله was alleged to have appeared on Freeman Street, Ebute Meta, Lagos state. It was another parade of SHIRK as people flocked to bow down and touch the alleged inscription, worthy to note that what they call لا إله إلا الله is not it at all, not different from the fake cross story.

Wallahi, a proper understanding of the Qur’an and Sunnah is the best source of religious liberation, saving someone from all forms of religious shenanigan.  If one tells people like these to disassociate themselves from difficulties they are putting themselves in,they would call such person an extremist and fanatic.

Sirnucy Lafiagi commenting on this said,

Free man street, Èbúté Mẹ́ta, Lagos State: The new headquarter of Shirk in Nigeria. It is alleged that the inscription لا إله إلا الله appeared on the street and, since yesterday people have turned the street to a newfound “Ka’abah”; rubbing their palms on it and wiping their faces with it, prostrating on it and making supplications.

When we say that Islaam is not a religion of “miracles” and that these “miracles” will eventually lead to Shirk, some think we’re being too harsh…”

May Allah save us from Shirk and Kufr. Ameen.
